Football Pool - Week 5

This...

So Larry, which win was sweeter for you?:buddies:

...one, by far, because it was not only not a 'surprise' like Dallas last week, but because they jumped out ahead, put us behind the 8 ball and we freaking dictated bit by bit, ran the ball, controlled the clock and basically acted like a team that KNEW it was going to win.

THAT is special.

It's early yet, but this is glory day stuff. This is how it was. Facing a top run defense? Too effing bad for you. Get some ice for the bruises. Facing a great offense? Where?

Now, granted, Westbrook was hurt, but he does not play defense.

This is HUGE.

...pay attention;

Back in 'the day', there were a number of constants; Low offensive turnovers, numerous offensive players leading in their categories and a KICKER who scored a lot of points.

Moss
Portis
Campbell
Cooley

and...

Current league MVP; Suisham.

In Gibbs I, we got into scoring position, a lot, solid special teams, defense making a play when really needed and took field goals galore because we'd be back for a TD or three later.

This is HOW IT is/was done, so , please, enjoy this!!!
I was only able to enjoy a sliver of the glory days.

I've been waiting for some time now to have a competitive, confident team that lives in the 21st century. These times are good times.

...has 'IT'. Get down by a few? No problem, when do we get the ball back? Need a first down? Got it. Need a stop? Got it. Need a 50 yard FG to keep it going? No problem!

A play here. A play there. The NFL is like that; make a couple of plays, you win. If not, you lose. Then, it builds on itself and, before long, you EXPECT to make a play. Anyone. Everyone. Here. There.

....this; When Dallas and Philly played that barn burner, everyone figured there is two of the best teams in the league.

We BEAT them both.

Not a miracle play. Not some dramatic last second deal; BEAT them.

Both.
