back in the mid 80s a friend and I were refused entrance to a bar in Norfolk that went by the name of the Hershy club. It was a lesbian bar. they refused to let two straight men in.

Very true. However, it could be argued that there are very very few Doctors offices that do not receive some sort of public money somewhere along the way. But if is completely 100% privately financed, then absolutely, they can refuse service too whoever they want. That is their right, or at least should be, as a business owner.

Oh stop. Please. This ##### was just looking for trouble. The doctor gave her a referral, but she wasn't interested in that - she wanted to FORCE the first doctor to inseminate her.

This woman was not denied treatment - she was denied treatment from that particular doctor. So she decided to force him legally because that's what she wanted in the first place.

It wasnt the only place in town, and they gave her a referral to a different place that would perform the procedure.
Do you think that before being inseminated, the doctor has an obligation to look into the family life that the child will be raised in?

Some places wont even let you adopt a dog without first coming to your home to make sure it will be cared for properly.

The issue here is that these doctors offices are receiving public money from the government and other government agencies are expected to provide a certain amount of services. The doctors do not get to choose who they provide these services too based on the patients' non-life threatening life-style choices. If a doctor were to refuse this treatment to a person who was obviously on drugs, thats one thing, but this is completely different. They are providing a public service, and therefore must act accordingly.
