What's in a name? I wonder how red the necks of these people are on the Home Depot paint chip scale.

damn HBO

I'm going out on a limb here...they are either lily white....or ebony...on the Home Depot paint chip scale
After all, Danaerys is the Queen of the SJWs. She is the freer of slaves, The breaker of chains, blah blah blah
Well, she was before she decided to kill everybody. You know, like a typical Progressive SJW...

We were a little disappointed. For an abbreviated season, we had a mix of extremely intense episodes with lots of story - and ones like this, with very little surprise, no big dramatic moments and mostly lots of talking. After eight years, we really thought the last episode would be a bang, but it seems like 3 and 5 were most of the storyline and everything else was added to tie up the loose ends.

The only surprise for me was Drogon. Without anyone having the ability to restrain him or otherwise tell him what to do, he was one of the few characters in the show that had the wisdom to just let things go. And he's an animal.

I hear a "prequel" series is in the works. I don't think I will watch. I certainly don't care about a sequel. While the show was entertaining, it wandered. With the exception of the overarching lurking menace of the Night King in the background, he was dispatched in a single episode and most of the story seemed - endless and without a planned "ending".

I will miss Tyrion. He seemed to always say the exact right thing at the right time. Even when facing execution, his first words to Jon Snow when he entered his cell was if he'd brought any wine (for those unfamiliar with his character, it was his way of saying he'd accepted his fate).

I hear a lot of people are naming their kids Drogon, Iron throne and Wight. Whitewalker is popular in the rural south but almost unheard of as a name in a big city.

OK. I'll admit to being late to this show. 10 years I guess.

Watched two episodes of this on my way home yesterday and I have to ask....

WTF is it with Hollywood and their fixation of late with incest?

I was hoping for swords, slaughter, dragons, wolves and just general mayhem.

Actually, that parts not just Hollywood, but true to the books. Like some earthly nobility, keeping the bloodline pure was deemed more important than silly commoner notions of propriety. The rules of the world don't apply to the rulers of the world, pretty common theme. And you will get all the other things in spades, trust me.

Well, I will still give it a couple more episodes but between Lena Headley and the other blonde girl being sold to the barbarians by her creepy brother, it's straining to watch. And I guess I shouldn't forget killing a child by hurling him off of a tower.

Ugh.

I'll see where episode 3 & 4 go before I cut bait.

Just sneakin' around....
No one will admit it, but many watched just for the sex, and it was ok 'cause everyone was watching as well, so no one was a perv.

So what I'm getting here is that Game Of Thrones is just gonna be medieval porn?

It has it's moments....

I watched the first season and called it quits. Just didn't get what everyone was so enthralled about.

I'm guessing the deaths get more brutal.

Like I said... I'll give it a couple more.

I usually like to give something four or five episodes to find it's way. A couple times I've watched one and said.. That's it. I'm done.

One of those was Black Mirror.

I bought the 1st 4 novels of the series on a friend's glowing recommendation and threw them into the To Be Donated box after just 75 pages. The world building is too dense, not really all that original and the story telling is no better than reading histories of events such as the War of the Roses and the machinations in Renaissance Italy.
