What's the time frame for this? Lumber may be down 55%, but a 2x4x8' was up from $2 to $10 over the past 2 years. 55% down means its still way up.

Does it mean 55% down from its peak .?

Decking boards last Oct were 18.98 for 5/4x6x16. By March they were 26.98. Now they back to Oct prices.

Figures are current, and are as well futures numbers. Just because lumber is trading lower, -55% from it's high, does not mean that retailers have, or will, adjust their prices to reflect.

I bought 1 pressure treated 2X8 10 foot long and another 14 foot long for the wharf and it was $61.00.
Seemed expensive to me.

That's pretty high, but the longer lengths are usually more expensive exponentially than 8 foot lengths. It sounds like you got a bargain.

It isn't unexpected, in fact I thought it would have been higher already.
Not that I like that.

But we have the so-called summer blend coming in, and the non-ethanol will kick up as more people use their boats and lawn mowers.
Yep it's going to be a pricy ride this summer. Vacations are not going to be cheap with less people traveling and motel and gas costs rising.

In 3 ..... 2 ..... 1 .... Waiting for the EV owners to chime in, in how much better off they are. Though, residential electricity is now totaling, all costs included, over .15 cents per KW.

I'm getting old, so it's my duty to get one of those 3-wheel scooter things. The store is literally across the street, so I'm good.

Maybe a real bright electric red color.....

As far as I know the electricity suppliers have not started increasing the infrastructure to cover the increasing need for electricity. I haven't seen any new power plants opening, in fact I see them closing down. The new structures to cover the increase needed are not going in place. When it starts there will be big cost increases. Electricity will be more expensive than fossil fuels in the future. I don't have 30 Grand to put solar panels in my yard and and I don't want a $2500 dollar battery charger in my garage, and I don't want a $90,000 dollar electric pick-up truck that won't haul a load or a trailer for 300 miles without a charge.
The EV owners can chime in all they want, but if they add in the cost of buying that electric POS along with the cost of charging it, they will still be paying more than me.

I thought the increase was also about the summer blends coming in. Instead the blame will be greedy oil companies & countries and Biden blaming Russia.
