You'll survive. I'll judge the "neighbor" for myself, regardless of what people say.Ken King said:ApparentlyYour hubby gave me red.

Yeah, that's always worked well in the past.Steve said:You'll survive. I'll judge the "neighbor" for myself, regardless of what people say.
I've never met her, and just started talking to her.

Good for you, but please get to know her at HER place, and don't come crying to me when the novelty of having your very own liberal pet retard has worn off and you are the laughing stock of St. Mary's County.
She has stopped PM'ing me...:shrug:Christy said:Yeah, that's always worked well in the past.

I'm sure she is. I simply have no desire to be neighborly. I don't speak to my current neighbor's why should I start a new trend?cattitude said:You could do a lot worse. She's a very nice person.![]()

You can email her back and tell her that's what you will be paying tomorrow.QPDoll said:I thought gas prices were bad here. I have a friend in Indiana that Emailed me today and told me she had to pay 3.19![]()

50% was just a round figure ! 19%, 21% It doesn't make a difference, the point remains the same.Steve said:In this day and age of the Internet, why do people still speculate and make up numbers instead of just doing a little research? I found this link in less than one minute.

So let's not say the 50% of gas prices are taxes. However, the 19% that is taxes (fed, state, and local) could certainly be temporarily reduced. Also, the market fixes the prices, not the government, so how is the government creating revenue again?
Yes, the Government has always had control over the market, through exercising non-Constitutional powers to control those markets, always in the "best interest of the U.S. population".gumbo said:So please get a grip and don't try to tell me that the Government doesn't have control over the market.

Anyway, this is temporary - once they get everything back on track, prices will go back down.
Exactly, and if gas stations don't make any money off gas anyway... what the hell do they need to raise the prices for? Supply fears my azz... Either way, supply or not, they don't make money off it and they don't need to raise prices.vraiblonde said:Someone made an excellent point on the radio show I was listening to on the way home tonight. Supposedly gas prices have gone through the roof int he last two days because of Katrina-caused shortages, right? Well, this guy's observation was, wouldn't there be a lag time? Did all the gas tanks suddenly go dry all at once and had to be filled at the higher prices?
So, basically, we're being price-gouged by the gas stations, not the oil companies or trucking companies.
There are all kinds of Federal laws on the books about price gouging, during war time and catastrophes.vraiblonde said:Someone made an excellent point on the radio show I was listening to on the way home tonight.
