WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 /Christian Newswire/ -- Organizers of San Francisco's hedonistic Folsom Street Fair — sponsored by Miller Brewing, Co. — have portrayed Christ and His disciples as half-naked homosexual sadomasochists in the event's promotional advertisement. The bread and wine representing Christ's broken body and lifegiving blood are replaced with sadomasochistic sex toys in this twisted version of Da Vinci's The Last Supper.

Note. The Miller Brewing Company has ordered their logo to be removed from the poster. Who knew gays drink Miller Lite?
HA... that's awesome... very creative...

Watch the red karma fly as the religous right comes beating down my door....

I guess it's too much to ask that with free speech comes responsibility. Besides, I don't think most people are nearly as offended by this as they are just outraged at the stupidity of it.

You find it irresponsible because you do not agree with it, and why is it stupid? It has preformed the exact role for which it was designed pretty darn efficient if you ask me.

When we restrict some free speech, we may as well disallow it all unless government permission is granted prior to expressing it.....like they do in Communist Cuba.
I was completely unaware that anyone was restricting free speech. I thought we were merely exercising our OWN free speech by denouncing this childish display.

THIS is another problem of the Left: they want to be free to spew whatever garbage they want, and offend anyone they please, but the second you tell them what you think of them, they start accusing you of stifling their free speech (while they are trying to stifle YOUR free speech).

Hypocrites.

What part of that poster points out religious intolerance? It's a bunch of freaks surrounded by their favorite toys.

Here's the picture:

(may be NSFW)

I have seen it already. You don't think placing blatantly homosexual men into a setting which mimics the Last Supper is a commentary on religion? Come on I have read your posts, you are smarter then that.

If the same men instead we put in a setting which mimics that famous dogs playing poker painting you would have probably laughed.

Just take a step back and take off the easily offened religion glasses for one second and look at this objectively.

Personnally, I don't give two craps what your personal moral convictions are based on and I'm not dictating anything to you. I stated fact (what's contained in the Bible) and opinion on why someone painted the POS picture. What you feel or think is irrelevant to me.

Got it, thanks for clarifying my point.

Obviously not, so why don't you explain it to me?

And I already told you - I'm not a religious person.

Oh, so when you called for showing responsibility with free speech you did not imply calling for them to restrict themselves.

You have every right to say what you want and I will fight for your right to say it.
I think it is hard to find worse than the KKK, but I will defend their right to wear a KKK outfit in public.
I am pro-choice, but I would defend protestors right to wave posters of aborted fetuses.
I wish Rush Limbaugh was struck mute, but I will defend his right to say whatever he does in spite of that.

Point me to the hypocrites that said you cannot say what you want.

Sorry I should not have inferred you were. I did explain it to you. It's religions commentary.

LOL you and I are from vastly different ends of the political spectrum but I think we would get along swimmingly.

What makes it "awesome?" The fact that it fuels hatred?

If the point you're trying to make is that you're ignorant as well as gay, I would tend to agree. But if your point is your original statement:

No one said it was art. I certainly didn't, although someone could make an argument for that.

Now on to the real crux of the matter. Who gives you or anyone who shares your beliefs the right to dictate lifestyles or beliefs systems to anyone else? What makes your "holy book" more relevant then any of the other "holy books" out there, or someones personal moral convictions which might not be based on a book for that matter?

1) "No one said it was art." Yes, I would definitely agree with the fact that it is not art. 2) What gives me the right to dictate. Told you before, "I'm not dictating anything to you." 3) What makes my holy book more relevant than anyone elses? Never said it was to anyone except those that believe in the Bible. All I said was that it upsets the gays because the Bible says that they are wrong in their beliefs. I just happen to agree with the Bible. 4) Moral convictions not based on a book. That's fine if that is your belief. I'm not trying to force my beliefs on you and didn't say anything to lead to that conclusion. Reading and comprehension are necessary in day to day living. You should try it.

No, the fact that someone would have the creative mind to create controversial art like that.

It's an advertising poster for the leather festival...

All this hullaballo... it sure got advertised, didn't it.

THAT is what makes it awesome. Publicity is publicity and as long as you have noteriety then you have fame and fame brings population

This is nothing more than an attempt to throw common sense out the window for a better, MORE PROGRESSIVE definition. You damn well this is offensive; maybe not to you, but you know it was meant to be offensive and distort any sort of common decency. Are you going to tell me our society doesn't and shouldn't have any level of common decency and responsibility to each to that end? Anything goes? This explains a lot.

What statement is it making?

I mean, we're not talking Goya here - if there is a statement, it should be fairly easy to pick out, right? So pick it out for me. What is this artwork trying to convey?

No, I am definitely calling for people to restrict themselves.

Themselves.

Get it?

I am not forcing them to restrict themselves, nor am I trying to make legislation that restricts them.

I am calling for *them* to show respect and restrict *themselves*.

Shall I spell it out even further?

If fueling the hatred of gays was their intent, they acheived exactly what they wanted to.

But you realize this hurts the mainstream gay movement, right?

What, exactly, is the commentary?

Gimme a break.

I find it fascinating when someone does something deliberately shocking and provocative --- and then act amazed (and offended) that people are actually shocked and provoked!

Just out of curiosity, have you also been arguing that the nooses hung from the white tree (in the Jena-6 case) were only ropes, and didn't really mean nothing.

I find it hilarious that these guys rail at those who consider them different, and they protest it by taking a shot at those *they* consider different.

:roflmao:
