I think I have a ghost living at my place. When I went to bed I could swear I had more beer in the fridge but when I woke up there was none. Then this other time I could swear there was a half of bottle of ameretto and when I awoke the next morning it was gone. Then there was this time that I went out to the pub and when i woke up all of my dollar bills were crumbled up in my pocket? Very Strange and Spooky

Weird. That happens to my M&M's also. My kids all tell me that "not me" eats em. "I dont know" sneaks in from time to time when I make cookies.

If you are really interested in studying the paranormal, go here: http://www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/

TAPS is often seen on the Sci Fi channel (Ghost Hunters). It is a VERY reputable group and have made many findings that has made denial of the paranormal very difficult for many. I am so amazed at what they have come across on some of the episodes.

========================================
Oh a personal note. Are ghosts real?? That is an age long question. From the perspective of religion - if you believe in the Holy Ghost/Spirit - how can one possible deny the possibility of other "ghosts". If it is possible to have a good spirit, why not an evil spirit?

From the scientific aspect, no one has yet to explain the mysterious EVP voices or undeniable ghostly images caught on film. Certain paranormal experiences were not able to be debunked.

To simply say that one has to see something to believe it exists is really silly. If you cannot see something but can see the effects the entity you “cannot see” – does it in fact exist? Try answering this question with “wind” in mind.

What ever the case, I do not think that we are meant to understand what life beyond the grave is to be like. I personally believe in purgatory and if the theory of purgatory is in fact a reality – then it could be understood that one may see ghosts.

For those who believe in the Holy Bible, there is a passage that says something about the dead crying out to God and asking him when they would be avenged from the sin that inflicted their lives (or something like that). If I am off in understanding, correction is appreciated. None the less, if the dead cry out – again – the true existence of ghosts would make sense.

I know this is an old forum but I love TAPS. Great show, great approach.

All this talk about ghosts.......

If anyone EVER reads this who knows who I am - NO! I am NOT out of my mind!

It must have been about 6 months after my dad died, but I had a dream about him. He was sitting in his favorite rocking chair and wearing his favorite plaid shirt. I asked what he was doing, because he was supposed to be DEAD! He said, "just hanging out" and smiled at me. I started crying and told him to never, ever trick me into believing he was dead. I started to hug him and told him "don't go, dad!". I woke up crying and screaming out "don't go, dad" so loud, that I woke my entire family!!!!! When I woke up.......I had his smell on my clothes!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if this has anything to do with ghosts, but I've had this same thing happen with my mother died when I was 11, my dad, and just recently my step-mom.

I believe that the people who love you the most, will make sure you are okay, before they "move on". I hope this is true. I miss my family so very, very, very much. But I, at least, have the peace of mind that they are okay.

My father just recently passed away, he was living with my brother because he could no longer take care of himself the cancer was taking it’s toll on him. I moved in temporarily to help my brother take care of our dad.

I changed my work hours to the night shift so I could be home with my dad. Every morning we had a ritual. I would come home and dad would be sitting in the kitchen with a pot of coffee on.
I would fix him breakfast and we would take it to the kitchen nook overlooking the garden in the back yard to eat. With out fail he always would open the window while I cleaned up and did the dishes and then we would go watch some TV together or a movie. We did not talk much towards the end because it cause him too much pain. But we still enjoyed one another’s company.

I came home one morning and dad was sitting there in the corner chair, I grabbed a cup of coffee and started to fix breakfast, out of the corner of my eye I saw movement and thought my dad had gotten up. I turned and he was still sitting there. But I swear I could have seen something opposite of him in the other chair, just for a second. I brought Dad’s breakfast over and he said, your grandmother wants you to know that she is very proud of you. Ok,….that was odd as she has been dead for quite some time. Nothing unusual happened that day.

I came home the next morning, same routine, dad sitting in the chair, I grabbed a cup of coffee and started to fix breakfast. Just about when I had finsined breakfast and was getting ready to give dad his, my brother came in. I said hey why arenlt you at work.? He did not say anything at first so I turned to grab my dads breakfast again to give it to him and he was not there so I left it there to go get mine and asked my brother if he wanted something to eat. He just started to cry and said that Dad passed away during the night. I said yeah right, dad was just there….but my brother was crying, I knew he was wrong he had to be. I looked all over the house and nothing.

When I came back to the kitchen, my brother was sitting in my dads chair and said I am sorry, I did not want to call you at work and have you drive home upset, there was nothing you could do. I wanted to tell you in person. I just sat there stunned. WTF? My brother got up hugged me and grabbed a cup of coffee and was getting ready to make the phone calls to the family, when he made the comment, good coffee sis you finally learned to make a good pot.,

I looked at him and told I did not make the coffee, I never make the coffee dad always did because I suck at it. I said I did not make the coffee it was made when I came home and Dad was sitting in his chair waiting for his breakfast. He still thinks I am crazy…..but I am telling you there was nothing unusual that morning until my brother came home and told me dad had passed away.

I know I saw my dad, he was sitting there like he always was moving and sometimes talking and just being normal. I did not make the coffee and no…..it is not set on an automatic timer. I know there will be some that do not believe this but it is the truth.

One of my dad's collegues used to own a 1600s era home named Cedar Hill in Prince Frederick. The story is they claimed to hear rocking chair sounds coming from the attic at night. I remember as a kid going to Cedar Hill for a barbeque and some of the other kids who were there were daring each other to go into the attic. I think I took about one or two steps up the attic stairs and then did a 180--you have to understand I was eight at the time.

I think this must have something to do with the greiving process. I had 2 or 3 of the same kinds of dreams after my father died 5 months ago. I don't remember anything like a smell though.

My uncle died about 3 years ago. He lived with my grandmother and she swears she feels and hears his spirit around.

As for myself, I have seen something that is unexplained. We had a haunted cemetary back home, not MD. Once a year or so, we used to see red lights near the church from the driveway. We never tried to walk up and see what they were because we were scared. I figured it was some kind of reflection. However, one night I drove my friend there trying to scare her and the light appeared right in front of my truck. It was about 10 ft up in the air and about 10-20 feet away. It was about the size of a floodlight you would put in your yard. I had already turn the truck around in case we did see something, so I was able to step on the gas and haul butt.

There was nothing there for it to be attached to. No tree, post, anything, just air. It had to be floating. I have no idea what it was or who it might have been. All I know was my blood froze when I saw it and now if someone make me go there after dark, I get so scared I cry.

Did this light have any intelligence to it? Did it move of stay stagnant?

No, the light didn't seem to have any intelligence. It was just floating there, not really moving. I didn't have a camera or anything as it was just a spur of the moment thing. You know, I never thought about going and trying to get pictures. After that incident, I was reallly too scared. The last time we went I got to scared to stay and wait.

This was a kind of halloween ritual we had. We would all load up in the back of a truck and drive down there at midnight. I believe we saw the light twice on Halloween, but like I said they were way back near the church and barely pinpricks. The time this happened, it was the middle of the summer about 10pm and it was almost right in my face. Ironically, this is the same cemetary my father was just burried in. Maybe when I go back home, I will look again as I am older and take boyfriend who is not scared of anything.

The light could be anything, really.

I have pictures I could send you. Over in Calvert County near cypress creek there is an old house. I took pictures of the side from a hole in the wall. I did not use a flash and the there were no other openings because they had all been sealed up.
