Who here remembers Gino's? (Warning: if you admit that you do, you are also admitting that you are old. Like me.)

Anyway, i just discovered that Gino's is coming back. Well, maybe not here, but somewhere. I just found out moments ago. This is breaking news to me so details are sketchy. You can join their Facebook group - "Everybody Goes To Gino's".

:yeahthat:I remember the one in LaPlata, before it was Roys. That and burger chef were my favorite places to go as a kid.

I remember, my first Gino's was on Silver Hill Rd, right by Suitland Pwky. The Burger Chef that was in Waldorf, didnt that become a Gino's, and then eventually a Bob's Big Boy where Denny's is today. There was another Gino's in the shopping center where the Einstein bagel place is now. I think there might have been another Gino's on the corner of Mattawomen and 301, where the BP station is today.

Yep, I remember Gino's. In the mid-70's, their slogan was, Gino's Gives You Freedom of Choice".

Surely you jest ...
OK I'm old, I'm with the Suitland Ginos memory.

Years before...the Robert Halls and Kenny's shoes. How I hated school shopping.

Found this:

We've got juicy cheese sirloiners, if you haven't tried you should,
Kentucky Fried Chicken that's finger lickin good
and we've got great big Gino Giants, and lots of crisp french fries,
(come to Gino's just give us a try)
We got Cokes, we got shakes, Gino's got just what it takes
C'mon everybody won't you try them (us)
Gino's gives you freedom of choice (repeat)
So come on everybody and let's rejoice
Gino's gives you freedom of choice!

Wasn't there a Gino's in Clinton on Woodyard and 5? It then became a Roys and now is Young Chow's Chinese.....

Yes you are old, my parents did alot of school shopping at Robert Hall and then went next door to Kenny's for shoes. You remember when Robert Halls became Morton's? Before it became Morton's my parents did alot of our school clothes shopping at the Mortons on Pennsylvania ave and Minnesota Ave in southeast.

There wasn't one at Mattawomen and 301. That started as a Roy's and then was a Hardees. Before that, it was a big old white house. There is still a graveyard behind Pinefield Liquors.
