Gino's!

Hardee's was burger joint, Roy's was roast beef. Roy went head to head with Arby's.
Hardee's went head to head with ? everyone. Of course their burgers where charcoal broiled, not like Bugger King where they are flame broiled

Sorry Gurps, but you are about 90% wrong. Hardees purchased the Roy Roger locations and converted the company stores and some franchisees stores. Hardees then sold out to Star Burgers or something and tried to convert the Hardees restaurants to Star Burgers. Sales flopped and they renamed the concept Star Hardees and now I'm seeing straight up Hardees here in NC. Not sure when that happened. I was in charge of new construction and remodels of Roy Rogers at Marriott Corp in the 80s then part of the Travel Plaza team where you are correct, Roy Rogers was still part of that concept.

Gino's is still around, one in Glen Burnie and one in Towson. They started in the Baltimore area as Gino Marchetti played for the Colts.

For old times sake, the wife and I drove to Towson to Gino's to get a Giant. For some reason, it didn't taste the way we remembered. It was still worth the trip.

Yeah, it's a fastfood chain. Above McD's in quality, maybe slightly above Checkers? Hardee's is exactly same as Carl's Jr, except with a different name.
I grew up not here, and occasionally have cravings for Carl's Jr and Jack in the Box (another burger chain, a step above). Me and LW always stop at one when we see one on a road trip.
