The small all black (maybe a patch of white, I don't recall) long hair that we've been seeing for years is not it?
The one that's been around for years had some white spots (this one is all black), hair a little long (this one is downright fuzzy), and is bigger than this one.

Ok. It was dark at 3:45 when I saw it in the trap. Either way, it's gotta go!!!!!!!!!

He's right. You may not agree, but he is correct. Feral cats (invasive species) compete with foxes, owls, hawks (all native species) for the same food.

Doesn't mean that it's okay to treat them badly though as some people do.

We CAN solve the problem if we can get enough people on board to TNR them. If we also disease test them all, and put down the ones that are positive, that'll remove probably 1/3 of the population right off the bat.

I'm doing my part, although it looks like this one is going to be a "Trap and take to shelter" instead of a TNR.

Kitten caught. Took a <5 second look at it before leaving for the bus. Looked like a mostly black with some white and I think brown mixed in. Anybody want it?

Is this a feral one? How old? Just wondering if we can get it vetted and adopt it out IF it is/could be tame enough?

If it's feral, and not much of a chance of taming, then not sure what to say. It's SO hard to place ferals. AND it's just not practical to keep them caged for more than a few weeks or they get irritated from being caged. So when you have ferals awaiting placement, what do you do with them if you don't have a large enclosed area to keep them?

This makes kitten #8 that I have caught over the years. ALL have been fixed and placed up to this one.

It's +/-10 weeks old. Will tame down just fine. All the others did. We catch the kittens and then bring them in and lock them in our bathroom until we can place them.

:huggy: great - I'll certainly be happy to spread the word and share the information once you know the sex and we have some pics to work with.

Kitten has been washed and put in the bathroom for safe keeping. I'm working on downloading a picture to my computer now for posting, but it's taking a while.

I estimate him to be about 12 weeks old. Gray tabby. Male. Lots of pet potential. Like any cat, he didn't like the bath, but he didn't freak out any more than any other cat and was quite happy to be wrapped up in a towel and rubbed dry.

He squinted his eyes at me and purred while I dried him, both signs that he's willing to make friends and he's young enough for it. He didn't hiss or bite and the only scratching he did was mostly with his back legs while trying to climb away.

He's scared now, but definately will make someone a good pet.

Sounds great - what a lucky kitten!

Here he is...

I forgot to add: no signs of fleas or ticks. Slight discharge around his eye, but not much.
