Good Lord, L. Your gas bills are way too high. I just had mine filled this morning, the first time since I had the gas fireplace installed in mid-October. I use it pretty much as my full-time heat. I have a 100 gallon tank, and the cost to fill it this morning was $205 - not bad for 3+ months of use. [Disclaimer: I tend to keep my home on the cool side]. Now I need to find a way to trim my electric bill even more. I did manage to cut $30 dollars from the January bill from December's absurdly high bill.

Our tank is 300 or 500 gallon - can't remember which (husband would know). The home is larger than the one we had before (even though that's still oil vs. gas...) so I guess it's to be expected. I'd just MUCH rather pay the entire estimated amount over a 12 month period as opposed to getting huge bills 3 or 4 mos. out of the year.

Don't I know about the price of gas. We came from a house w/oil back-up heat, but we were on the plan where you pay the same amount per month all year 'round to avoid getting stuck with enormous winter bills. I think it was around $75/month for the oil bill, which wasn't bad. We cook with gas here, and have gas back-up heat. WEeeeelllllll, the only time you can sign up for the 'pay the same amount each month based on yearly estimations, etc...' is in June. We moved here at the end of September, so we'll have to wait until June to sign up. For the past 3 mos. my gas bills have been between $430-$530.

I think our gas bill will end up being around $200 monthly, which is still high, but it's way better to pay that each month as opposed to these enormous bills we have now since we aren't on that plan yet.

You really should have that checked out! That really sounds aweful high!

I got a 300 gallon tank and I use gas for hot water, garage heat, back up heat for the house and hot tub and I don't go through the amount you do.

WEGMAN'S IS DA BOMB!!! I love it there, wish they'd put one in Waldorf, but I think most here would see it as a spendy store. If it is a good one, it will be on the order of Dean and Delucca, or Bread and Circus. Has lots of gourmet items, a wonderful cheese and bakery section, great cooked foods, higher-end beauty products, and all sorts of cool extras (food court, home stuff...). DOn't expect the prices to compare to Giant/SFW/etc, but they do have a Wegman's card that is worth it.

I liked the ones in NJ and Erie PA.

I'll have to check it out. I did get their card. In their literature they claim they are cheaper than typical grocery stores and comparable to the warehouse stores. But from the way they described the stores, that didn't seem possible. Thanks for the input!
