Gun Control Advocates Set Their Sights on Gun Industry Trade Group
A national gun control organization is taking responsibility for the NRA’s legal problems, setting its sights on a firearms industry trade organization, and calling on people to join its fight.
In a March 14 email, Brady—formerly The Brady Campaign—is soliciting signatures on a petition for Congress to pass more gun control laws to end the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Neither Brady nor the NRA responded to emails requesting comments on this story.
Mark Oliva, Managing Director of Public Affairs for the NSSF, said he is not surprised by the email. He said Brady is only one of several groups assaulting Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

Gov. Youngkin Vetoes Virginia Democrats’ ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban
On February 9, 2024, Breitbart News pointed out that the Virginia House Democrats “assault firearm” ban targeted semiautomatic centerfire pistols — like the 9mm or 45 ACP — if said pistols take a detachable magazine and have a threaded barrel.
Semiautomatic centerfire pistols are wildly popular among concealed carriers and target shooters. Some of the most popular semiautomatic centerfire pistols include the 9mm, 45 ACP, and 10mm, and a pistol chambered in any of those three rounds could have been banned in Virginia over a threaded barrel if Democrats got their way.
But Y0ungkin vetoed the “assault weapons” ban and Richmond Times-Dispatch quoted him saying in a statement, “The Constitution precludes the Commonwealth from prohibiting a broad category of firearms widely embraced for lawful purposes, such as self-defense. Despite this, certain members of the General Assembly have pursued legislation banning most contemporary semiautomatic firearms and specific ammunition-feeding devices.”
13 Democrat State Attorneys General Target Glock, Decry ‘Machine-Gun Glocks’
The suit points to China as one of the sources for “auto sears” — the central component of a “Glock switch” — but they do not explain the degree to which China is allegedly committed to saturating the United States with such switches.
On February 26, 2024, Breitbart News contributor Peter Schweizer, in Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans, revealed that Chinese companies, which are heavily regulated by the Chinese government, are flooding the United States with auto sear switches, small metal devices also known as “Glock switches,” that can convert handguns into machine guns. They are illegal for most gun owners in the United States, but are being shipped in boxes by the “thousands” from China.
Now, the 13 Democrat AGS are demanding Glock preserve all documents related to, “The conversion of Glock semiautomatic handguns into automatic weapons,” “The design and development of Glock pistols with respect to their semiautomatic function,” “[Glock’s] knowledge about all state and federal laws relating to Glock switches and converted Glock machine guns,” “Financial information relating to Glock pistols, including profit,” and “Any public-facing marketing or advertising related to Glock pistols,” among other things.
This could get interesting.....considering Glock is far and away the most common handgun carried by LEOs...

Here at Twitchy, we are all about solutions. Believe it or not, we want to help the nutbar leftists. At least, help them not to be so nutbar all the time. For instance, the left loves to talk about our guns, how we cannot be trusted with them, and how they know better than us what our Constitutional rights are.
So here is our advice: if you are going to do that, it would help your case if you ever were to, you know, LEARN THE FIRST F***ING THING ABOUT GUNS.
Whew. Sorry for shouting. But we've just about had it. We recently heard Supreme Court oral arguments on this subject. And we had actual, sitting Supreme Court justices -- plural -- believing that bump stocks could make guns fire 800 rounds per second. Yes, per second.
Yesterday, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison decided to join the party by publicly proclaiming how much HE didn't know about guns. (This is the same man who recently blamed car thefts on ... car manufacturers. And he was not joking.)
Oy vey. Twelve hundred rounds per minute, Keith? Seriously? Are you TRYING to make people point and laugh at you?
We're pretty sure Twitchy readers know this even if Ellison doesn't, but a quick reminder that the Glocks he is referring to here are handguns.

Lousiana Democrat's Gun Violence Prevention Office Proposal Is Dead in the Water
The state of Louisiana recently passed a permitless carry bill, and the anti-gunner lobby is already hard at work trying to limit gun ownership. The state Senate Judiciary Committee recently witnessed a heated debate over SB 203, a proposal that would establish an office of violence prevention, a move that has sparked suspicions over potential violations of the Second Amendment.
Similar to the White House’s new violence prevention office, this agency would be charged with curbing violent crime in the state. However, given the nature and timing of this proposal, some are concerned that it is merely a covert way to infringe on the right to keep and bear arms. Republicans in the state legislature have stalled the measure for the time being.
