“In response to recent rumors alleging criminal activity by the immigrant population in our city, we wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community,” the police said in a statement emailed to NBC News.
They added that they had no information to support similar assertions about immigrants squatting or disrupting traffic.
“Additionally, there have been no verified instances of immigrants engaging in illegal activities such as squatting or littering in front of residents’ homes. Furthermore, no reports have been made regarding members of the immigrant community deliberately disrupting traffic,” the police said.

I don't think anyone has called "Mexicans" (or any group of Hispanic illegals) lazy in quite a long time. You watch too many Quick Draw McGraw cartoons.

That said, where do you get this idea that Haitians are hard working? Why are you trying to make this a thing? It took them 2 decades to clean up after a hurricane that DR cleaned up in less than a year. Despite sharing an island (I.E. having the same resources and the same weather) DR has the largest and most successful economy in the Caribbean, despite having to compete with very large tourist economies like the Bahamas. Meanwhile Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, has an economy ranked 155th out of 184 ranked countries, and an unemployment level estimated to be among the top 10 in the world. It's estimated, because they can't get anyone to actually do the job of perfoming an accurate census on their labor markets.
But yeah, sure, they are hard working.

Lost of them are hard working, as are most folks of any kind. As for being here legally, that's sort of the point. The only reason they are here legally is that Joe and Kamala waved the magic wand and made them all asylum cases with special privilege and started the Haitian Airlift.
I do wish someone would do an FOI to get the documents regarding how their destinations were chosen. Who thinks that adding 20K of any other culture to a town of only 60K would be a good idea?
