... Handing stuff out for halloween...

You know, this could be a good idea. When the obviously adult TPT, welfare leeches who smear a little mud on their face and call it a costume then hold out a dirty pillow case for candy, drop a condom in the bag.

if you were to let your high-schooler come to my house to take candy from kids then i would give them a condom... its not going into a young kids bag, its going into a teens bag

How inappropriate though. If the HS kids need protection...let them go buy their own. ToT'ing is for the kids..it is not about handing out protection to a group of teenagers who shouldn't be out ToT'ing in the first place.

True, but you as a private citizen shouldn't get involved in these matters. You would be in trouble even if you handed them pamphlets on STDs. Colleges give out condoms and safe-sex info because the students are legal adults. And I think public health departments offer confidential assistance to teens, but I don't know if they give out condoms.

I just feel that it would be an inappropriate thing to do. Bottom line. Halloween is not meant for teenage kids to dress up and receive condoms as their "treats". That sort of thing is not necessary and if they need condoms they should go to thier local health department. I for one, as a parent of a girl that is going to be a teen, do not agree.

hang on, this was an episode of Everybody loves Raymond..........
Remember, Frank handed out ray's "gold coins" by accident????

But yes, the health dept does hand out condoms, thats what they are there for

I gotta say, I *hate* it when anyone over the age of say, *12* is out trick or treating. Toddlers and first graders are cute, but it bugs me when *teens* are out long past the time when the rest are at home already, and almost never wearing a costume. I mean, I felt too old at the ripe old age of 11. Especially when a *classmate* of mine filled my Halloween bag!

I'd really like a way to embarass kids of that age without running the risk of an egged house, TP'ed trees or soaped car (or worse). You know, like acting like a senile old coot who thinks they're all nine and ten years old.

Try insisting that they stay to listen to your senile gripes about the Illuminati towing your car, or the CIA trying to suck out your liver through a straw.

Has anyone ever heard of anyone handing out condoms to highschool kids on halloween? If so anyone know what their reaction was?

I would be handing out candy to younger kids

... discuss

btw, im at school so its not happening, i just want a discussion :)
When I was a kid a local liberal dropped a condom in my plastic punkin on Holloween. I reached in and took it out, examined it and asked the lady "Ma'am, I am a conservative do you have any larges left?"

In some places it is ok for teens to go trick or treating. I lived in NC and they had no place for the kids to dress up and have fun on Halloween. So I let them go trick or treating. They also took a group of kids with them so the ages ranged from 6 to 16 in the group. They had fun and the parents did not have to take the younger ones out. They also did not do any egg throwing or tp'ing. Now that we are here, I am trying to tell my teenagers to not go. They have places to go this year that they can dress up so maybe they will not go.

But if they did and was given a condom....I would be rather upset. I do not have a problem with the school handing them out but not a stranger in the neighborhood. Growing up we were afraid of razor blades in the apples....just think what some sicko (not implying anyone here) could do with the condoms. As a parent that would be my very first thought. The person that handed them out was a sicko.

I feel that parents should be the one handing out the condems with a long talk. I understand most parents don't do that so that is why they need to have someplace else for the kids to get them but not for a well meaning neighbor....at least I hope that is where you are coming from.....

Wow...who ever gave me bad karma thanks so much. I feel so welcomed to this new area. And I did not send my children out, I allowed them to go. There is a difference.
