Honest to God, I don't know WHAT the Dems have to gain by shooting down Hegseth.

He's threatening to get in their goody bag. If they really thought he'd be a failure they'd want him because it would give Trump a black eye. But there's a shitTON of money to be made profiteering and "reallocating funds", not to mention paying off cronies and making deals with foreign nations. War is good for certain pocketbooks. Pete has said he's going to put a stop to that, and apparently he means it because all the crooks are terrified and going into attack mode.

The majority is not that great when you have people you cannot count on.
The alternative - and there's only one - is the Democrats run it. And it means, they run EVERYTHING.
The House proposes, the Senate disposes - the House crafts something, guess what? One guy shoots it down, because his party has the majority.
A majority in the Senate - especially Democrats, who never have "defectors" - means they can approve and fail to approve ANYTHING and ANYONE they want.

The RINOs are undependable - but they do vote with the GOP more often than not.

In the 116th US Congress, Susan Collins voted with the Democrats 56% of the time. Murkowski voted with the Republican Party 65.1 percent of the time

🔥 The deep-state blob did everything it could to stop this next development. Even former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell disgracefully joined Democrats in voting “no.” But yesterday, after a tie-breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance, the Senate confirmed Pete Hegseth as the new Secretary of Defense, replacing buffoonish cartoon villain Lloyd Austin.

Hegseth’s confirmation is significant because he is now the first super-controversial Trump nominee to be confirmed anyway. So, if Trump can confirm Hegseth, the other nominees should be in good shape. We might be past the most difficult part.

During his confirmation hearing, Hegseth told lawmakers he intends to restore a “warrior culture” to the Pentagon. I would argue that what we’ve seen over the last 100 hours is a brand-new, whole-of-government warrior culture. Bring it.

Murkowski and Collins will never be primaried because those states want to vote Democrat and being Leftist tools is the only thing keeping these Senators in office. Primary them and the Democrat wins in the general, Republicans lose the majority.
Murkowski was in fact primaried and lost, she won as a write in. That being said she won on the strength of her dads last name, who was the senator before her, and a whole shitload of D's voting for her.
