The 7th day Adventist believe in doing the ten commandments and the commandment that says to keep the seventh day holy means the 7th day and not the first day of the week which is Sunday the day of the Sun. The 7th day is from Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown, so the seventh day is really Saturday daytime and Friday night. The days start at sundown night time because in Genesis 1, God made light out of darkness and said "evening then morming" were the first day, etc.dems4me said:Not trying to get too off subject, but a coworker here, became a 7th Day Adventist and now has every Friday off and its entirely legal. Off hand, do you recall what the differences are scriptually from 7th Day Adventis to Christians? I ask because I think I may want Fridays off too now
The first thing I'd do is ask a TON of questions. And if he gave me the old, "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?" I'd tell him that's why I don't believe in him - because truth has answers, not merely questions.Dondi said:If the God of the Bible would come down right now and looked you right in the face and said that He's real and the Bible is true, would you believe in Him, obey Him, and follow Him?

Christian orthodoxy says that Sunday is the sabbath but Jesus and the apostles kept the Hebrew 7th day sabbath which is Saturday and so do the seventh day adventist. Their religion is much deaper then this but that is a part of it, and the Adventist are Christians big time.
I saw a sign that said, "God answers kneemail"...dems4me said:a church sign said "prayer is the best form of wireless communication"

No I am not a member but I use to go to meetings with them and the 7th Day Adventist church is midway between Leonardtown and Great Mills. I still keep the 7th day (to some degree) and Ellen G. White is the 19th century 7th Day Adventist "Saint" and I have read some of her works and she was very inspired and still well worth reading. I now go to some Sunday churches but am never going to be a member of one.dems4me said:Thanks are you one of them
Friday is the Muslim / Islam holy day based on the preperation of the 7th day sabbath. I have attended Sunni muslim serves before too. I am of all religions.dems4me said:I just think its a little odd this person suddenly gets all fridays off now due to new found religion

God would give me a hug and tell me that all I need to do is try a little harder, learn a bit more.. Children of God are perfect in their imperfection, and beautiful inspite of their flaws. God would tell me that I don't need to argue with the ones who shout that they are right, because I already know what's up.
I would then say, " Cool God, let's go sit down by the water and you can show me some cool stuff, then we can go mess with my kids heads and make stuffed animals talk. Won't that be a hoot God? Have some wine...."
Not true. Many churches, even some Catholic churches, have open communion. All they ask is that you not partake if you are not a Christian. So, it you are not a Christian, you are not supposed to take communion. Even if you did, it would be meaningless.RoseRed said:I am not Catholic, therefore, I am unable to take communion.
Christianity does not celebrate the sabbath. We celebrate the day of resurrection, the first day of the week, Sunday. Jesus and His disciples honored the sabbath because the resurrection had not occurred yet.JPC said:Christian orthodoxy says that Sunday is the sabbath but Jesus and the apostles kept the Hebrew 7th day sabbath which is Saturday ...
