Ya see Pete we have a tendency to let other think what they want about us here in the South.. Sometimes we incourage such thought.. Most from the North think we are nothing but a bunch of dumb inbreed hicks anyway and no matter what we say they still think the same.. So why not let the other feller make a fool out of himself through hisown bias..

Anyway, I speak West Virginian a whole lot better then I do Yankee. Oh FYI, my Degree is in Computer Science, but since I became sick in 1991, most of what I knew left when my PO2 Levels started to drop.

Also considering my every waking moment I am contemplating God and my end which ain't too far away now, why not mention God?

LOL As best I can remember what Southern Maryland was like in the late 80s and early 90s, don't much blame ya.. But I did like it the 3 years I was there.

Is that true? My son was born in the same hospital I was (granted 20 years later) but we have different first numbers.

They are? From ssa.gov site:

What Does Your Number Mean:

The nine-digit Social Security number is divided into three parts:

The first three digits are the area number. If your Social Security number was assigned before 1972 when Social Security cards were issued by local offices, the area number reflects the State where you applied for your number. If your number was assigned in 1972 or later when we began issuing Social Security cards centrally, the area number reflects the State as determined by the ZIP code in the mailing address on your application for the number.

The middle two digits are the group number. They have no special geographic or data significance but merely serve to break the number into conveniently sized blocks for orderly issuance.

The last four digits are serial numbers. They represent a straight numerical sequence of digits from 0001-9999 within the group.
