As I thought, you just want to cry and whine. You brought your gripe to a desk officer at the barrack and nothing more. Such a noble warrior for rule of law and justice you are.
You know I don't really have a problem with the police being able to have some discretion in some things. I'm not saying a wholesale refusal to apply the law, but the ability to cut someone a break depending on the circumstances. One point that I do have though is this is not ever to save anyone any money, it's strictly a way to force the citizenry to pay more into the governors pet projects.
So happy to know we have people that are content with LEO doing at least 50% of their job :killingme
Please be sure to remember that in the event one of YOUR family members gets T-boned or when you walk into the MVA and have to fork up $400 for registration. Hey.. at least you got in a funny retort on the forum....

There was legislation introduced this year to take expired tags, among other things, off the list of primary reasons to stop.

It and the companion House of Delegates bill were passed and sent to the Governor for signing.
Some local departments had already instructed their officers to not stop cars with expired tags, broken tail/brake lights and headlights.

( psssst, is Razor person some other entity changing personalities again?) The reason for not stopping people for "minor violations" is quite obvious. The legislature and very liberal "leaders" swallowed a load about Police Brutality and had Department heads afraid of the DOJ breathing down their necks with investigations AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION HIRING. So many Chiefs and States' Attorneys instructed the average patrolman to avoid confrontations and arrests over seemingly minor offenses. Even back in the late 1970's they instructed officers to give what amounted to citations for disorderly conduct, fist fights, vagrancy, minor thefts, (now NO ARRESTS for $1000.00 shoplifting in some states). So, what so bad about a dead tag or 20...

I really like seeing the world in shades of gray instead of just black and white. It makes me feel like the world doesn’t think I’m a dick.
