Ok, here's a good one. The govt shipped chain saws to affected locations. Good deal, right?

They are electric chain saws. To areas with no power and no generators.

At the 3 min mark.

this is the kind of stupidity that needs to be purged from government for all time.

Actually, it would probably be more beneficial if it were purged from humanity for all time.

The Government probably bought them to push their Electric BS and got stuck with them and figured it was a good way to get rid of them.

Extending the free period through end of year for those affected by the hurricanes

I wonder. Of those that have received a Starlink set, and after they have recovered and don't need it anymore, (due to having their regular internet access back), will they have to return that Starlink equipment?

They were probably distributed with return info, but I doubt highly most will make it back. The units will be deactivated remotely and become bricks. I'm sure Starlink realizes this and has already written them off for a loss.

My buddy in Gerton whose farm became a rescue supply staging area (Chinooks still in and out daily) received their Starlink hardware about three days ago. He said the connection was initially spotty but got better after a day or so.

‘Redneck ingenuity for the win!’ Locals get creative when gov’t fails to come through with Helene relief

Necessity is the mother of invention and nobody knows that better than the residents of northeast Tennessee.

Following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, many were left stranded while awaiting intervention from the government. Locals and volunteers eventually got tired of waiting and crafted a makeshift bridge with what they had handy.
