We went there a few years ago on vacation. If I remember correctly, it was around 45 minutes to an hour.

If you take the dirt road, it's much shorter.

We just got back from Cherokee and took the drive over to Gatlinburg! takes 45min to 1 hour to drive over US 441 from either direction. But you should stop at the summit drive to check out Northumberland Gap - BREATHTAKING! It's not far but you'll be going over some steep mountains, take your time and watch for the hairpin turns.

Ah thanks :buddies: Next time I drive from Lusby to Constantinople I'll try the tunnel instead.

I hear Rhodesia is nice this time of year, and the ferry takes you right into the market place for just under $100.

Take the Gatlinburg Bypass or you'll spent most of your time trying to drive though Gatlinburg.

:yeahthat: We did the bypass on the way over from Cherokee, but decided to drive through Gatlinburg on the way back. Talk about traffic!!! We didn't stop, but it looked like a really nice place to visit. Lots to see and do there.

Do NOT try to drive thru Pigeon Forge on a Sunday morning between 9:00 and noon. When we left, we left the hotel at about 9:30. Took about an hour from the time we hit the entrance to PF till we got to I-81.

Is Gatlinburg that busy now? When I used to go there we never had any trouble going from one end to the other. I love Gatlinburg...so much better than Pigeon Forge! Not to say PF was bad, but Gat was better.

Takes an hour tops. However, you have to factor in tourists, lookie loos, rv's etc. during the summer and it can take up to two hours.

If you are in Cherokee, be sure to stop at the casino  and to see the play production "Trail of Tears". You can also check out the "villages" that are set up for tourism and education.

My history teacher read us that story in class and then started crying, we were all staring at him like WTF
