That was awhile ago, now I know maybe 20 people who've gotten it. One had to be hospitalized (our buddy StillCrazy), but none died. Everyone else had either no major symptoms, or they had regular flu symptoms for maybe a week before they recovered.
I think there's also an overreaction to routine illnesses because of all this "you're gonna die!!" pandemic hype. Then you throw in the #metoo people who didn't have the virus but do want to be part of the gang, and who knows what the numbers actually are.
I personally know a woman who swore her 5 year old had covid, even though the child had no symptoms and was never tested - she goes on FB to tell everyone how her daughter almost DIED! when that is not true. She also says the kid has peanut allergy, and ADHD, and is on the autism spectrum. So yeah, she's one of those, and she's not the only Munchausen Mommy out there.
