Hopefully the river won't get much higher or worse tonight, my neighbor didn't tie his boat to the lift ... again.

Idiots where I used to live would very very securely tie their boats to the piers. Lots of line. At low tide. And forget about tide rise of 9 feet in NY.

I made a mint raising boats off the bottom.

I should probably go tie it off for him just in case, it would be the neighborly thing to do. His first boat was found in Westmoreland County, VA one week after another TS came through here, about 3-4 years ago.

When you go out on the wharf be sure to feel ahead with a stick to make sure none of the boards have floated off. The water when it goes up[ over the wharfs sometimes does that and stepping in that hole is bad news.

Done and the pier is doing just great.

We've had a shiatload of rain in last hour and a half.

I've never had seven separate warning calls in one day from the emergency service before. The rain continues to fall. I might need to bring the kayaks up to the deck.
