About 9pm. at the crossover in front of the Harley dealership car and motorcycle, not looking good for the motorcyclist, flown out to shock trauma priority. Dont know whether the car or motorcycle pulled out from Old Rt.5, but it appears maybe the car did and he t-boned the car.

I was there today about noon, as I am almost every Saturday, and the gripe I have is that mountain of dirt at that intersection! Is there any purpose to it?!!! It seriously hinders the line of sight of anyone sitting at the stop sign. Morons!
I hope & pray the cyclist pulls through...

I was there and placed the 911 call while my boyfriend tried to get a response from the motorcycle rider... the guy was breathing really heavily but no one could get a response out of him. It was pretty bad...his helmet had come off and he was covered in roadrash and all twisted up. The guy on the bike (which was orange) has flown up on us just after the light at Oliver Shop Rd, zipped in and out of some traffic, then took off. Next thing I know we're coming up on the Harley shop and I see a pile of orange (the bike) in the middle of the road and scream for my bf to stop the car.

What happened was there was a guy in a small black car that attmpted to go from the ramp at the Harley shop, cross over Rt5 South to head up Rt5 North. The guy on the bike hit the front quarter panel of the car on the driver's side. The bike was DESTROYED (no front tire/axel left, etc), all airbags deployed in the car and the quarterpanel was almost nonexistent. The guy driving the car said he never even saw the guy on the bike.

I dont know whatever became of the guy, but we were there from right after impact until after they shut down Rt5. By the time we did a U-turn onto Rt5 North, got back onto Rt5 South and hit the ramp to go behind the Harley shop to the light at Hugesville, the EMT's still hadnt gotten the guy off the road onto a stretcher and they had been there for a good 15 minutes. Made me nervous... I hope the guy is OK

To hold the big pole that carries high tension wires across the highway. If your at that stop sign waiting to make a left, at that point the big hill is not a problem. If that hill wasnt there you would proably have people run that stop sign like crazy, cause you could see what is coming from a long ways off.

I was coming down Rt.5 also I was maybe 4-5 minutes behind the accident, call got dispatched as I passed Rt. 488, fire and EMS were just arriving, when I approached the accident, I arrived with the first police car, I just pulled off onto the old road and pulled in the Harley lot
to observe.

Thats right no girl on the back.

Last weeks accident I havent heard anymore on it, except that guy was really messed up also.

Its always the crotch rockets that wreck there on the bypass, I know of only one Harley accident and that one hit black ice, back when all the water use to run across the traveled lanes from underground springs.

My husband was right behind that guy who hit the black ice. Just horrible.

The others all seem to be from driving like crazy people.

I am surprised theses accidents are not getting more attention to warn other rides of the dangers of driving at high rates of speed and such. I haven't even seen them on the baynet or any newspapers.

Yup... We had come from Rt 488 onto Rt5. You must have honestly JUST missed the actual impact - the 1st cop car showed up about 5-10 minutes after impact.

At least they got there fast. The Hughesville Fire and EMS site says he sustained "life threatening injuries." I hope the guy made it... I cant find any updates anywhere on it.

I was over at PJ's when it went out. There was a 2nd PI that went out in the North bound lane at the same time - guess a rubber-necker got rear ended. We almost started to go but stopped when it sounded like the OIC had it under control.

I heard the guy was talking and seemed alert. Physically, he was pretty well jacked up but seemed to have his whits about him. Whether he made it or not I am unsure.

Nobody ever said if it was one of those rice rockets or not. If it was, I have no sympathy. Those clowns fly like a bat out of hell, weave in and out of traffic, go up the middle of the road in traffic and don't give a damn and let loose at 100 mph. I was coming home from VA last weekend and a whole bunch of them were traveling North on 301, flying up the road. As I came into Laplata and traffic started to build up at the Rt 6 light, they started going up the center between the lanes. Thank god an undercover cop was there and pulled a whole bunch of them over. There were about 5 or 6 on the side of road in LaPlata looking all sad..sorry about their luck! I would have thrown the damn book at them! It's really hard to feel sympathetic when they do stupid crap like that.

lol so if it was a "rice rocket" you have no sympathy...it doesn't matter if they were driving wrecklessly or not...but if it was another form of motorcyle, they could drive like an idiot that is ok?

Of course it would matter and no, it isn't okay, but 95% of the time, I don't see Harley's driving like a bat out of hell.

I see it all the time.

Well, I don't, but then again, I live North. Maybe getting off on some back road somewhere, they might cut loose. Where I come from, I see rice rockets flying WELL OVER THE SPEED LIMIT, which is why I have no sympathy. People who drive like that shouldn't be allowed to have a license, no matter who it may be.
