Heard from my eldest niece a little bit ago.
Their neighborhood was on the news...neighbors being rescued with boats ...
She sent a screenshot of a video...
She said "Neighborhood on the news last night. It's a miracle some how our home, B's parents and our side neighbors didn't get water in our home. The only homes. Water came up to our garage line. "
I'm so thankful. It's hard to be so far away and unable to help. I just saw all 3 of my nieces 2 weeks ago and it was the 1st time we'd all 4 been together at the same time since Easter in 2012, which was about a year after their mom died.

Heard of people going into their attics to escape the flooding. Which I find ludicrous. If the water kept getting higher, there is no escape from an enclosed attic.

Officials in Fort Myers implement 6pm curfew due to LOOTERS
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Lee County boss Roger Dejarlais ordered the curfew for all cities including Fort Myers, where the brunt of the hurricane was felt before it moved northeast.
Sooooo, watched about thirty seconds of Brandon telling the people impacted by the hurricane that help is on the way. Not too sure how Brandon expects the people to see him considering all the power and television is out where they need help the most. Couldn't have been just a political statement to try and make him look good, could it? Taking advantage of peoples misery for his own political gain?

Equal opportunity doesn't translate to equal outcome. Stop putting your thumb on the scales. Personally, some of the least accomplished people I know are the ones that got the most hand outs along the way. They get help to get a step ahead. Then they make a poor choice that sets them back 2 steps. ANd they do it over & over again.
Want to see this on a micro level? How many lottery winners & professional sport millionaires end up bankrupt and broke a decade later? So many, it's like a running joke. Some people are bottomless pits of charity consumption. No amount of assistance will raise them to the next level. Because they have already maxed out their potential.

Just remember California is banning ALL forms of gas powered engines over the next 5 years. What California does, Maryland soon follows, especially if we elect that socialist Moore as our next governor. How is all that battery power gonna work when we get our next Isabel? No more gas stoves or oil furnaces, which we were close to outlawing here in Maryland this past legislative session. We lose electricity - we lose everything under this regime! Just let that sink in as you go to the voting booth in November. Vote early, vote often!
