People still going to the bars in Key West tonight.

I went to Sloppy Joes with my brother! He said it's not too bad- - wind gusts of up to 60mph earlier today. I think the storm is about 90-100 miles west of the Keys about now. He lives on Cudjoe Key.

“FEMA Administrator [Deanne] Criswell said today that she acknowledged concerns that Florida [inaudible] lacks response to the storm so far and that–” the reporter began.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Give me a break,” DeSantis fired back. “That is nonsense. Stop politicizing, okay? Stop it. We declared a state of emergency when this thing wasn’t even formed.”

“We’ve had people in here, you’ve had counties doing, they’ve done a lot of hard work and honestly, you’re trying to attack me, I get, but like you’re attacking these other people who’ve worked very hard,” he continued. “And so that’s just totally false. I don’t think we’ve ever, certainly since I’ve been governor, declared a state emergency this early. We made sure that we were very inclusive with it. We said that there was a lot of uncertainty and then we’ve worked to make sure the preparations that have been done and all the stuff, you talk to the people at the counties, when they’ve needed something, stuff gets there very quickly because of what Kevin and his team have done.”

I'm getting a kick out of the Fox Weather reports, trying so hard to show how bad conditions are. "Look at the ripples on the water and the trees swaying!!!" The trees in my backyard were more animated with the wind over the past 3 days locally.

I'm not downplaying the potential, it's going to be bad, but enough of the drama... it's like those videos of reporters being blown away while someone walks nonchalantly behind them.

They have to earn their keep somehow. I'm sure TWC will have Dave Malkoff there explaining how this is due to Climate Change.

Crabcake posted a video on her FB and the birds eating out on the grass by the pond don't seem bothered at all.

One other item. If they get hit hard like they are projecting (hoping) those EV owners may need to wait 2-3 weeks (or more) to return while the electrical system is repaired. I wouldn't put EV charging stations higher on the repair list than the homes and apartments where people are living.
