What'd you make for dinner last night after I posted that I was making homemade pizza? :tap:

 :huggy:

Want the other mat so you can make sushi and be all kewl like me?

You two stop it, and go to your rooms.
I really don't want to bend you over my knee, but if I have too I will. Now go.

I didn't see that before I made pizza. I made the dough and it had to rise so I actually made mine first at about 2pm :neener:

Yeah sure whatever...

No thanks, I am rice challenged and it is all about the rice. One of the others would be more worthy. Thanks anyway.

Chicken.

It was actually quite easy, even with my inferior rolling pressure skills.

hmmmmmm
It's all about the rice...
a good marinade for the rice :yay:

Delicious but I need to practice rolling - they were a little loose.

And wasabi paste that you make yourself is a lot hotter than the pre-made stuff. *sniff*
SO can roll them super tight, I haven't made it in a while, we're due. We do veg rolls, cali rolls and Philly rolls, the boy loves the fish eggs, they make me :barf:
How much $ would it take for you to snort a line of wasabi :really:

Look at the Gringo Sushi at Tex Wasabi's:
TEX WASABI'S - Southern BBQ & California Style Sushi

I'm going to do this!

What about stuffed ham SOMD rolls

OK just so I didn't get flogged, I posted my pic of my "finished" Pizza at 4:57PM and you posted your "intent" to make pizza at 5pm.

I am vindicated. :diva: In actuality you probably copied me.

To be honest the idea of making sushi never popped into my mind. You use a special stick y rice right?

I don't mind the rolls but I was told that is not sushi. Guess they were wrong. I will stick with buying it.

If you wanna get all technical, sushi is just rice with the fish on top. But, pretty much everyone calls the rolls sushi too.

Now I want sushi!!

I never really got the difference. I am pretty open minded when it comes to food. When I was in Japan I tried it twice and both times it was not my bag.

Boy and I even tried it again last year. (Tying to broaden his cullinary mind) and it was STILL not our bag.

I like the rolls, but a slab of raw fish perched on a rice nugget........nosir.

It's so good! Dipped in a little soy with wasabi... There's a good place in Middletown.

I was in Reno and was taken out to dinner by some big wigs from a Canadian company. We went to the 5 star steak house and I didn't feel like beef so I got the tuna. Well it was over an inch thick and seared on each side but dead raw in the middle. Not wanting them to think I was a hillbilly goober I decided to just eat it and not send it back to be grilled the rest of the way. I couldn't do it. Chewing an inch thisck cunk of raw tuna was too much for me. :lmao: I managed to get half of it down but the rest got left.

My daughter always gives me crap because I want my tuna steak cooked all the way through. She's like, "Why don't you just open a friggin' can???"

They have it at Shoppers in the Asian aisle. It's marked "sushi rice" so you get the right thing. The left side of the aisle, bottom shelf, and that's where the nori is, too.

It was only a short one but I should have put on the neck scarf thing.

Don't the proverbial "they" still make thick insulated motorcycle/jumpsuits and insulated gloves for cold-weater bikers? I've heard that some folks feel like the Stay Puf Marshmallow Man when they wear one, but aren't they warm?

Sorry Vrai. Didn't mean to take your thread into a TOTALLY different, unrelated direction.

How do you take a healthy snack and make it into an unhealthy one?

Fry it in peanut oil! :yahoo:

Sushi made with an eggroll wrapper instead of the nori - chicken, avocado, mushroom and spinach. Rolled it up, the top ones got fried, then cut; the bottom ones got cut, then fried.

And they are outrageously good!! So good I'm going to make them for my next party. :yay:

They are crazy delicious! The rice takes on a slightly sweet taste and kind of...not melts but gets less ricey and more goobery.

That damn Guy Fieri doesn't share his gringo sushi method anywhere that I could find, so I had to experiment. Which is why we have the cut/fry and the fry/cut - to see which worked best. Turns out they both work. :yay:
