I am so mad!! (Pet store experience...)

I will never go to that pet store again. I went there to ask a few questions about salt water fish tanks, and they were very rude and nasty. One of the workers had his head buried in a book and had no intention of helping me. I could have spent some real money in his store but he refused to look away from his friggin' fish book to show mw around. Unfortunately, I needed a fish net and I had no idea where I could find another store. This jerk didn't want to give me a bag for my purchase when I left. Beware of this place! :burning:

I can't believe that the store would not only hire a kid who terrorizes the animals but that he was ignorant enough to do so in front of customers (of course I am guessing ignorance is a pretty common characteristic among animal abusers). I am really sad to hear of this because I previously had a higher regard for this particular store as compared to the other pet store in our area - if you want to see some really sad (and in some cases deceased and rotting) fish, take a walk into Lori-Be. I would do like someone else mentioned and inform the owner of the store. Update us on the conversation. If they do the right thing and they will fire the kid - if they blow it off then they obviously have no respect for their animals or their customers (who wants to buy a bunny that is terrified of people?). Either way, you did the right thing by speaking up.

No, I don't,, I live on Clover Hill Road, Hollywood, Md. I just have apathy for other people!
I think you mean "empathy", not "apathy".

Main Entry: ap·a·thy
Pronunciation: 'a-p&-thE
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek apatheia, from apathEs without feeling, from a- + pathos emotion -- more at PATHOS
1 : lack of feeling or emotion : IMPASSIVENESS
2 : lack of interest or concern : INDIFFERENCE

Main Entry: em·pa·thy
Pronunciation: 'em-p&-thE
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek empatheia, literally, passion, from empathEs emotional, from em- + pathos feelings, emotion -- more at PATHOS
1 : the imaginative projection of a subjective state into an object so that the object appears to be infused with it
2 : the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner; also : the capacity for this

You should have grab him up by his leg :burning: I hate that place, we were in there and they had alot of dead turtles floating in one of the tanks....Its discusting. The employees are rude and I think we should start a campaign to run them out of buisness! The owner has to know whats going on, people are blind as long as what ever problem is there dosen't cost them money. Hit him where it hurts, it will cost you in a drive to Waldorf, but remember we are supposed to be getting a petsmart or petsgo or something like that in first colony arn't we?

I reported this to someone who can do a little investigating. They said they would investigate and do something about it.

Can I just say that you guys are the best? Truly...I mean it...I'm still so saddened by the whole incident. So people here have said that they will try to go to other stores to make their pet food/supplies purchases. That's exactly what I plan to do. Target has a great selection of small animal supplies (hay, litter, food bowls, etc.). I was using them as my primary supply source and will definitely continue to give them my business versus the 2 pet stores in our area. Yes, I've ventured into the Lori-Be and have not been really impressed with their selection, prices, or the general conditions of the store. (Okay, that was an understatement!) Thank you all for your support...and special thanks to 2nd Amendment for reporting it. Hopefully we'll see some positive things happen!

I have heard rumors of plan for a PetSmart . . . along with Old Navy and I think a T.J. Maxx?? Hard to say though when it will be . . . these additions either seem to lag on for years (how many times have we heard the new movie theater rumor) or pop up out of nowhere overnight . . .

I live just off of Old Rolling Rd. and they did the perk tests on that site, I watch the planning commission meeting about that strip mall, the commissioners approved it back then, but I'm not sure if anythings changed. I have Direct TV now so I don't get channel 10 anymore.

Just got word this morning that the person I talked with took it up with the animal rescue folks. They contacted the owner who said she WOULD take care of the situation. Time will tell.

Well I just moved to the area a month ago and I need to buy some crickets for my daughters geckos. Where can I go if I can't go to these two places? We live in Lusby and started our search of pets stores last week. After reading the posts....I am a bit afraid to go in there...I may throttle someone.

Thanks

yes, it's sad about those rabbits at Corner Critters. I was told no one wants to buy them white with red eyes, then they will become snake food! That made me sick. I am with you!
