I am so mad!! (Pet store experience...)

Somewhat off topic but I really liked that my boyfriends older brother caught his boys a small rabbit on their yard. Sometime later he caught a female. He now has 8 beautiful bun buns and the parents now roam freely in the yard eating what they wish. They are fairly tame and never leave the yard. I think that's so cute! As soon as the others are tame enough he will release them as well. He feeds them natural food. I have a feeling he will eventually eat one or two, but I eat rabbit so at least he knows what he is getting. I think that if I had a rabbit, I would just get me a wild one and tame it enough to stay near my house. It looks alot nicer than cages and the kiddies have something cute too look at. (yeah, they do follow them around the yard trying to catch them , but they have learned not too attack them, as I make sure to let them know that rabbits are sensitive and hate being jumbled or yelled at)..

I used to love pet stores , but now I would really rather see them in a natural environment. Snakes are cool pets as are ferrets and rats. I even once had a raccoon(abandoned as a baby, and he died anyway, dispite my fathers efforts) I had an apartment that had squirrels nesting in the eves near my kitchen, they would pull up the drop cieling tiles and hang out in eating my cat food. COOL !!!

BTW, CC and LORI-BE suck!! I thought that LORI-BE was closed now ??

I would like to say just a couple of things. First and foremost I am not saying that this "kid" was in anyway right at all for handling the rabbit rough, food or not it's still alive and able to process thoughts and must be treated as such. Next, I get a little bit upset when I read some of these posts. I have known the owners for years, and they are great people and great animal caretakers. The turtle in the 'wooden box' is a family pet and he goes home every night where he has almost the entire house to roam freely in. The reptiles they keep are very well maintained, and I wish I could say the same for when they are sold and go off to a new home where over half of the time the new owners have no clue of what to do to maintain thier newest addition. Should I contact the government and turn all of you in who have bought pets but cannot take 'proper' care of them because you have no clue of whats best for them??? Yes the snake tank is small, but has anyone thought about maybe the reason behind this??? I do not think so, and I would love to invite whoever says this to go put thier head in a wild snake's den (thier CHOSEN home) and see exactly how much room is in there, I can tell you from experience and knowlege that it is less than what the snakes in Corner Critters, get the name right before bashing, are in now. Also if you were better at caring for your fish, then you would have known not to put water from another tank, especailly one you do not tend yourself, in with your tank.
Another thing, about the apartments above them, I have been in there before and trust me the smell from Corner Critters is not the smell that is in the apartments, no animal smells like that.

In My Opinion
Before I owned my own business I worked for a company that was owned by a private individual.
His son, was an ass.
what might be going on here is that this employee is the owners son and the reason that the other employees just looked at you when you complained is due to the fact that little johnny gets away with whatever he wants.

where I worked, you could not even bring up the problems that the son was causing, dad just didnt want to hear about it.

I shall like to know if you may have talked to the store owner? Who owns this place?
I gotta ask, how do you become a "New Asian", is that a you either are or aren't one kind of thing? Or do you just mean your new, and Asian? If that is the case, I should have called myself "New Whitey", or maybe "New woman" which of course would imply I had made some sort of life change, which I did not. Is that your case? Did you make a life change and have infact become a "New Asian"? Maybe you just had a baby, and that is the "New Asian", then a better name would be "New Parent". :ohwell:

I've had mixed experiences at Corner Critters. I've been in there when it's clean and the gentleman working in there was friendly and attentive, I've also been in there when it's cruddy and the staff (mostly the young kids) couldn't be bothered.

I've never been a big fan of pet stores anyway. They make me sad and I'm always tempted to buy all the feeder mice so they don't have to become snake food.

I took my Red Lored Amazon there once when I first got him as a rescue to have his wings clipped so that he wouldn't associate trauma with me in the beginning. Well, they just opened up his cage, he flew out and went smack into the front window. I was pissed. They should have known better. Any bird person knows that you don't let a new bird you know nothing about abd that is scared out of his cage alone in a strange place, let alone one with a HUGE window! Duh.
