Mine was that the National Association of Stock Car Racing actually raced stock cars.

The cars going round the track were slightly modified versions of the car I could walk into a dealership and buy.

I gave up on the left turn circuit when they were forced into the identical car.

At least I got to see the Firecracker 400 (Daytona), the Daytona 500, and several races at Talladega, Charlotte, Atlanta and some of the smaller tracks when manufactures made their own cars, and the fastest cars won, and won, and won until some other manufacturer made a better car.......

Now it is just boring to tears.

When I do watch auto racing, I like Formula 1, Can Am, and just plain sports car racing. NASCAR is only interesting when I'm intoxicated.

I mean, oval track racing: doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. The definition of insanity, or so I'm told.

I think they should change to an American Idol format where the fans vote on who gets in the chase and who wins it.

Who knows maybe Danica will get naked to win the chase.

WRC, race in all weather and on all surfaces
I always thought NASCAR was really wimpy for cancelling races due to weather
Even motorcycles race in the rain

Oval racing actually pulls more G's than road racing, not certain but was the Indy 500 ran in the rain?
