Salt Life
Reno, NV
This is on my list of places to visit.
Reno, NV
No. A Mom and Pop store down the road is NOT city.
I want beer, a cabin and possibly cable. Definitely a basement.
Give me a library, some candles and I'll be fine. My Dad taught me how to make beer when I was 3 years old. PITA and I would rather buy it.
You didn't say Mom and Pop, you said convenience.
Just how long until you are begging for a mall,,,
Im talking I want to live where the closest store is cause for a day trip.
It is where you are now. Just walk.
The country store just shut down, now I have to walk about 7 miles
Piece o' cake. You've walked home from Annapolis, right?

I stiill think you could pull off some Magic Mike. You could probably pull off chaps and a cowboy hat in Reno.
Pun was intentional.![]()
Western NC in the mountains.
That would work too.
I abhor malls and just want a place where I can buy milk, eggs and beer...oh, and low priced cigs. Mom and Pop convenience store. You didn't say Mom and Pop, you said convenience.

Asheville, NC area. Mountains everywhere, golf, Blue Ridge Parkway, fantastic mountain biking, VA hospital regional center, artsy-fartsy, party and cultural center for the region. Has it all, but ain't cheap. It is a retirement haven. Been there many times visiting mom and dad who retired to there in 1982.
Needless to say no one is talking to her, after they openly cursed in her face and told her to go back to the city.
Biggest little city in the USA that is immediately abutted by nothing, snow but not alot, gorgeous scenery, Vagas like without being too much, cheap land, Lake Tahoe and California close but not too close, Sierra Nevada mountains, #7 on Kiplingers tax friendly states fo rretirees.
Sounds great!
Reno area is really beautiful and fun. NAS Fallon, home to Top Gun, is nearby (about 70 miles east, considered nearby in out west mileage) as well. Gets cold in the winter.
Northern Idaho or Knoxville, TN area.
