hadn't heard, God loves you.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Most Atheists/Agnostics will not understand this kind of thinking.:killingme

Actually, I (an atheist) understand it just fine. What I don't understand is this: which God is he talking about?

You see, all deities are effectively equivalent in the absence of objective evidence to support their existence. That means that there are hundreds of deities that judge people's lives according to the myriad of beliefs and religious systems on this planet.

Therefore, the question remains about which deity he is talking about, and why anyone should care what his deity has to say. Or, more correctly, what he claims his deity has to say.

Well worded, but not well thought out.

Insofar as proof is concerned, you are correct that all are equally unproven. Insofar as fact is concerned, there is only one true answer. Whether that answer is there is no God, or the Christian God is correct, or another God entirely, or whatever - one of these answers is most likely true (or damned close to it). It matters not in the slightest what people believe to be true to make that the truth. So, stating that there are "hundreds of dieties that judge people's lives" is, more than likely, completely false. It does not stand to reason that ALL religions (and, I'm lumping atheism in as a religious belief) are true. But, one is. And, you know which God to which the first post referenced.

If he's right, it matters a lot what his diety has to say. If he's not right, it really doesn't matter at all what he thinks his diety has to say, because that diety wouldn't exist.

We each live by what we believe to be true, not by what we believe to be false.

Let me attempt to make it more simple as to what I meant when I posted that "Most Atheists/Agnostics will not understand this kind of thinking".

It is my understanding that those folks do not accept the theory of the Trinity, meaning God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

2nd Amendment quoted the Gospel of John, verses 3 - 16. It is my belief and understanding that John made known these thoughts after having spent much time in deep and personal touch with his Lord and savior, watching and listening throughout Jesus's ministry while on this earth. He watched while Jesus taught and healed the masses, he watched - incredulously - as He was betrayed, he watched while He was judged, and he watched while his Lord was sentenced to death and then crucified.

He was also witness to Jesus's resurrection, was there when Jesus presented Himself to the rest of the Disciples, and lastly was present when Jesus bid them all farewell and ascended into Heaven.

Tell me if I am incorrect, but do those folks I was refering to acknowledge my above statements, and therefore the gist of this entire thread?

You are quite right! The Holy Bible states that the carnal mind of man cannot comprehend the things of God because they are spiritually discerned.
In other words, the human intellect can be intelligent in reasoning and problem solving on earthly matters but finds it difficult to comprehend the concept of a Supreme Creator God who is able to spiritually communicate with mankind. This also explains the "peace that surpasses all understanding" - a concept that many do not grasp because they are not in tune spiritually with the Prince of Peace.

but men will constantly clamour that they know the only path to heaven.

It's 100% foolery.

Claiming to know something you also claim to not be able to comprehend.
