I have a carseat and it isnt stated ANYWHERE that you are supposed to put the handle down. So how do you suppose people know if its not on the carseat or in the manual???

I'd assume that if it's not stated on the seat or in the manual that it doesn't apply to the seat.

I can't see where a child being rammed up against the back of the seat on impact is going to be very good for them. Sorry, but if there is nothing on the seat or in the manual about the arm being down, I'm gonna leave it up.

We must have the same carseat, mine doesnt say anything either? But I do put the handle down.

Nope, I don't have a carseat, I don't even have kids. But my neice and nephew ride with me all the time, and my neice has the seat where the handle has to be up to lock it to the base. If you put the handle down, it releases from the base.

Carseat manufacturers as well as regulations ensure that the instructions clearly state what you need to do to use the carseat in the appropriate manner. Too bad that some parents are dingbats and don't follow the rules.

If my carseat instructions don't tell me to put the handle down, then it must not be that big of a deal.
