Sorry for the a-holeness but my other post asking about I phone service turned into a 2 pages long debate on who owned what tower. I do not care what tower is owned by who or where it is at.
End of rant.

How well does your iPhone work in Southern MD?

Where is there a dead spot at?

I live in Piney Point, How is the coverage out there? How about in the the Ranch Club, I have family that lives there.

I have an iPhone. Had it for about a month now and I was suprised that the coverage is as good as it is. I an not sure about it working in Piney Point because I have not been down there since I got it. I know it works everywhere else in the county I have been except for a small stretch of road going down to Ridge on Rt 5. I have not been down in Clements or anywhere on 234 with it yet. I would think tht if it works in Ridge it should work just about anywhere. As far as the Ranch Club I have not been over there either.

I had Verizon before this and they still have a little bit better coverage but I couldn't help but to get the iPhone.

Here is a link to thier coverage viewer site.
AT&T Coverage Viewer

A recommndation would be to spend $10 on a GO phone and buy a few minutes for it and see if it works where you go.

Get Started - Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular

I have a Verizon ENV, it's a lot like an iPhone, except the touch screen, and the internet access.. and it's not too compatible with APPLE's or MAC's.

But did I tell you we went shopping today, yep, we went to LOWE's, they didn't have any iPhones, but they had these AWESOME shelves. We bought two of them. THey don't have touch screens, and aren't compatible with APPLE's or MAC's either, but what they do do, they do very well.

Then my son met us at the Giant parking lot.. I don't know what kind of phone he has, but I doubt it's an iPhone as he's on my Verixon plan, and last I knew iPhones weren't compatible with VErizon but he's a smart kid so maybe he found a way for them to work on Verizon.

My other kids (I have 5) all have cell phones too, should I call them and see if they have an iPhone? Oh wait,, not all of my kids have cell phones, Nicholas, he's damn cute, woudl you like to see a picture.. he's only two.. he doesn't have a cell phone, but if he COULD have a cell phone I'm thinking it would be an iPhone.. WAIT, this just in.. my two year old DOES have a cell phone, I forgot last year, after I went swimming with My OLD cell phone, I gave it to him.. now he sites in the living room and talks to us on his cell phone, he's so damn cute.. would you like a picture.. I may be able to get one with him talking on an iPhone if you like.

Anyways.. there I was, low crawling through the mud, it was stinky stagnant mud, and well I was happy, if only I was a pig, I could say "I was happier than a pig in a mudpile".. but I'm not a pig, but I was happy..

I got the same thing.

iPhone users where are... 01-13-2008 08:52 AM read his post...

He asked what kind of service the iPhone gets in Southern Maryland. I've had AT&T (Cingular) and I've had phones with every other company. Verizon and T-Mobile are the best, and the others suck.

Therefore, I read his post and I informed him what kind of service he'll be getting, which will be sucky service.

Plus, Verizon's ENV is similar to the iPhone but has more features (picture messaging, video messaging, etc).

If you want to ##### about where the service is for a certain company start your own post. If you want to debate about what phone I should get instead of the iPhone START ANOTHER THREAD.

workaholic - thanks for your post.

AndyMarquisLIVE & itsbob - I do not care about your post, you do not own an iPhone so I am ignoring your post I wish you would stay away from this. If you have something to say about this response, PM me directly with your concerns.

I never really had a problem with Cingular service in SOMD, sorry I dont have an IPhone but the service is the network not the phone's issue.

I ended my cingular service in Jan 06 though so your milage may vary.

Mattvivslievesou stop the :tantrum and take a pill... it's an open forum, the more you sling you get just that more in return, and sometimes exponentially more, so be careful... People have fun around here so lighten up a bit! :howdy:

People are giving their opinion and advice based on experience with service of the carrier and their personal carrier.

I do not own an iPhone, but my sister-in-law does. It is more of a toy and she complains about the service in fringe areas (off the beaten path of major thoroughfares). It is really more of an issue with the carrier, not the phone. In the city it works GREAT!
