It was a great 15 years...

Due to a meeting tonight, I needed to arrive at work late today. As I was just about to get up and get dressed, Dymphna called to me and said that Mackenzie (our old lady cat) was at the bottom of the steps and was not responding. I got up, got dressed and then checked on the cat (<3 minutes from first notice). She was right. Mackenzie has been on a downward spiral for the last 6 months or so, so we knew it was just a matter of time. I gathered her in a towel and rubbed her head a couple times and told her to let go, it was OK, I would take care of her. She breathed 3 more times and was gone. She's now playing Monsters Under the Covers in heaven. I buried her in the backyard and then left for work.

RIP Mackenzie.

:huggy: Sorry for the loss of your cat. I also had to once tell a kitty it was ok for him to go. He had cancer and it was time. One or two more breathes and he was at peace.
