Like everyone else here, I'm glad that your sons and their friends were smart enough not to talk back to these punks too much. I can only hope I would have reacted the same way when I was their age (man, that makes me sound old!). Nowadays you never know who'll be pulling out a gun. Last night your boys experienced racism. It has nothing to do with their ages, racism is racism regardless of age. These thugs will continue to act the same way as they get older, it's not going to suddenly change. That's the way they've been raised - once again, great parenting!
I'll say this - my husband and I have been thinking of going to the movies because it's been a long time. We won't be going to that theater if their staff can't/won't resolve these types of situations. The cops should have been called - maybe their punk azzes would've thought twice the next time.

I called the movie theatre when they got home and I hope this is not stereotyping but the kid sounded like a 20 year old white kid. He was the manager. He knew EXACTLY what movie I was referring to as my kids were not the only ones who walked out, some adults walked out as well after asking them to quiet down and getting the same verbal abuse. His response was "we have police patroling the area on Friday and Saturday nights" Its a crying shame when you have to have police protection to go to a movie and in that case, as I told the manager, he should have brought the police in and he should have had them removed.
I was thinking too of filing charges for threats and calling the NAACP after I did. However the kids were home safe and removed from the situation so a little too later for that. I am going to teach my kids to fight with the authorities the way that group of kids would. Where would Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton be if it was a black on white crime or black on white racism? Makes no sense to me that they do not stick up for all forms of racism!!!!!
However, I did get a little "redneck" with the movie theatre guy and told him, "You better get this situation under control because the next time I have instructed my kids to call me from the theatre and when you have a crazy white mom in the parking lot loading her pistol, it may not end so well the next time!" HAHA
This ofcourse comes off the tail end of my 20 year old getting robbed while performing his job and having to sit there and watch the culprits raid my company work van (he works for me) because he was severely out numbered in Southeast DC. Yeah we are performing a service to give them a nice place to live and when he called the cops, the cop left him standing on the corner waiting for the finger print crew in the middle of SE while all the culprits watched him there with the police because she said "her shift was over and he would have to wait for the fingerprint crew by himself" Needless to say I filed a complaint against her and the next week.....two of the project managers on that job (2 white, 1 asian) were robbed at gunpoint!

yeah uh that makes it safe... They are only illegal when they get caught.....hopefully they will but with everyone in that neighborhood saying "we didn't see anything" they probably won't and while they are scared for their own saftey.....they are not protecting themselves by keeping silent.

Certainly it was racist and somebody could have been hurt, and guess who would have gotten the blame. Not the poor , underprivileged ,black darlings.
They expect to be treated with respect and as equals and they act like they just left a tirade from Rev. Jeremiah Wright. These kids are driven by hate., They got it from home and they got it from their leaders. When they hear crap like he spreads this is the result.

Obama stated that his White Grandmother was a typical white person and was frightened when she met a black man on the street. Its people like this who turn people like Obama's white Grandmother into people who are frightened when around blacks.

Unfortunately, a 20 year old theatre/fast food rest. mgrs aren't going to do squat. He's there to earn some pocket change so he can waste it on stupid stuff like we all did when we were 20. Probably hung up the phone and had a good laugh. I think next time, you, me and anyone else in this situation needs to get up out of the comfy seat, go complain to management right there demand a refund. Don't ask them to do something about it. They won't; don't care. Just demand a refund.. Your son did the right thing by avoiding a confrontation with those animals. However...if the theater can't provide and peaceful, interruption free environment for people to watch movies....They need to be closed down, or sued!
Next time this happens, I'm going to call the owner of the theatre, or the day-shift mgr. Hope he/she is over 30 at least. If they have any sense and care about the future of that theater, they'll listen if enough people call and complain.
I wish they'd make a rule where no one under 18 can be admitted after 9pm! Regardless of rating!

All the crap mentioned is why I don't go to the movies. The price, the loud chewers, no manners, people acting like fools....I could go on and on. I wait until they come out on DVD and watch it with peace and quiet.

Think about if it had happened the other way...
If the white kids had said the "were going to mess up the black boys" we would be talking about a 'hate crime'. Either way - this was racially motivated and should have been persued by the management.

Same thing happened to my son and friends. They went to Waldorf at the 10? around there show on Sat. and said they couldn't hear it and there was a group in front that was horrible. Since they were very outnumbered they chose to say nothing. They said the ushers tried but it was a joke. They actually wanted to drive to VA to try a theatre there but knew we would say no. (They were mostly 16 and 17).
Some of these kids spend their own money on tickets. I am calling the management today. They didn't say nothing because they wanted to get out of there asap.
These were black kids also but I think the main constant here is that the establishment was too scared to kick them out!! How do you expect any kids, any race to behave if you let them go. If you lose their business so what, you will gain it back in people who like to actually watch the movie at a theater where they can enjoy it.
