We are not going through IVF now, almost had to go that route. But, you really want to check your insurance. Because I was told mine covered it- and BAM- when I was actually going through all the fertility testing- I got slammed with bills galore. After I was told it was covered- I found it wasnt. Certain tests, like checking your progesterone levels (P4 levels), and other such tests as the LH surges, and hcg trigger levels, were not covered. Just make sure to check EVERYTHING. Another couple I know, who is now pregnant with twins through IVF- was told all their meds were covered- and come to find out- only the first fill of the rx's were- and they needed a total of 4 for the entire process (thankfully they got pregnant on the first try). They were 8k in with just meds- and she even went through a "discount" company when they found out what their pharmacy was going to charge.
Shady Grove should be able to give you a list, or explain to you in depth ALL of the tests, meds, etc, so that you can contact your insurance and find out. If you get ahold of someone that is good, then they will go down the list with you- and say yes, no, yes, etc with what is covered and what is not. You dont want to be taken by surprise. Have all your ducks in a row!
Also- is shady grove going to bank your eggs for you? or are you having a seperate bank? And when you do the "shared program" are you going to ask for the potenial doner recievers to take over the fee of banking? You should see if that is available. Not all places cover the banking fee's in their prices of the actual in-vitro process.
