I wasnt before- but now that I have thought about it more- its a little strange- to see her say that this is her first appointment. :shrug: whateva.. LOL

ok so here's the deal.. update to why i said 30 so called egss... For 2 months i've had no monthly... So my obgyn told me to get a sono done, in which case the tech was telling me what she saw.... ( Now most won't because they aren't doctor's) Well as shes looking around I see all these tiny little things on the screen and I was like what is that? Then she said, Well April you get pregnant easy don't ya... At this point Im thinking why is she asking me this... I said well no not really....(only got pregnant easy on B.C pills because I did get a monthly every 28-34 days... Then I go to say my tubes are tied, shes like well good thing (if you dont want anymore children) Bad thing because you have all these (eggs) and you would be pregant in a heart beat!! So that's why I said 30 eggs... (I myself) didnt understand how I had alot... Because I thought it was only a few a month... See, I'm still learning all of this stuff... My girlfriend said well since Ive hadnt had one in over 2 months then that's why I have so many *eggs* hanging out... So here is my deal, isnt that a bad thing? I know alot of you are reading this laughing your AZZ off... its ok.... I can take it.... As far as the IVF goes no I dont know alot... I do know I may have to give myself shots that may include: FSH,LH,and HCG...These are to Stimulate the ovaries to produce more egss...
I was told (over the phone) that someone like me who's had children they could get 20 or more... now this was told to me by the nurse at Shady Grove, however they may not be able to get that many.... To whom that asked why am I doing IVF if I have children... simple, my tubes are tied... So therefore my hubbys stuff cant meet with my stuff... therefore no baby...lol
So with IVF they by pass my tubes all together..... So far this is all I really know about IVF... I need to learn more, read more before my 1st appt. so i dont look like a jackass( as ive done here) (LOL)

What I got from that and all the other things that she has said is.....
1. She had a child and couldn't take care of it so she gave it to a "good family"
2. She has had 2 other children since and I think(don't quote me on this) she didn't give them up
3. The second child was born pre-mature and there was a good chance that the third was going to be also(but wasn't)
4. She had her tubes tied because of the aforementioned posts
5. She is now going to go thru IVF so that she can have another child(and she has a lot of eggs to spare, the sonographer told her so)
6. She has 10K to pay for the IVF and/or possibly do the "share program" to lower the cost of her procedure
Please correct me if I am wrong in all of this....and answer a simple question for me also....
Why would you put yourself thru all of the pain of harvesting your eggs, the major hormonal changes and the heartache of finding that "it didn't work again", to bring another child into the world that has a high chance of being pre-mature(and possibly all the problems that premies have), when there are so many children out there that need a good home?

You are right with what you said... I too ask myslef is it fair for me to have another lil one knowing I had my one son early... This I do worrie about.. The truth is... Im not 100% sure Im going to go though with IVF.. I have alot to think about... I would love to help another couple have a chance of having children but to, this is a great deal to think about....
I just thought maybe someone from around this area has gone though this.... Like I said Im still learning a great deal of info... It's alot of homework to learn everything you need to know about IVF.....

Okay...this is a little late, but I think the tied tubes can be reversed...ligation (sorry about the spelling) can't, but the tying and clamping can.
Do the MD's know why the babies were pre-mature? The person that said that knowingly having a pre-mature baby isn't a great thing to do was right. I am all for having children and building families, but the problems if you're approaching/in your thirties coupled with the prematurity issues is setting yourself up for heartbreak. Discuss the cause of the previous two childrens prematurity with the doctor.
