Jiffy Lube

I've never had a problem with Jiffy Lube. As far as oil changes and simple maintenance, they have ONE advantage over just about every one else in the business....

It's pretty much all they do.

It means if I drive up to a Jiffy Lube, if the line is short, I can be out in a few minutes. If I go anywhere else, I have to wait until they finish whatever they've got lined up for repairs that morning. Everybody else, they've got some transmission they have to pull out, some engine work, SOMETHING else that means my 15 minute oil change will have to wait for - and without a car - it means I sit on my azz and wait until it's time.

I mean, if it weren't such a pain in the azz nowadays to change oil or change brake pads - I'd do it myself. Cars today aren't built so that stuff like that is easy to do.

Sounds very familiar and about the same time my experience happened, except it was for a transmission fluid change. About 10 miles down the road, the transmission crapped out because for some strange reason, it doesn't work well without fluid in it. It was about $1500 to replace the transmission and a hard fight with JL to pay for it.

They paid me to overhaul alot of police interceptor transmissions around the same time. That 50 cent gasket they left off the tranny filters was necessary after all.:roflmao:

I don't doubt it. They were pretty bad around that time and I have no idea if they've really improved, but I doubt it from the horror stories I keep hearing about. :frown:

Sounds like a big cha-CHING for your company. Who wound up paying for it?
The J-team!:yay:

I'd give anything if I could remember that damn "chant" thing we did at the end of every oil change to make sure all was taken care of! :lmao:

:smack: for not reading the posting I made back in November.
:smack: for not reading my post from three years ago and remembering it. Jiffy Lube bites. Even my boy toy who once worked at one, says not to ever take your vehicle there. :nono:

I'd like to report that I received an inquiry email today from the woman who does the television investigative reports on businesses who wrong consumers. :bubble:

:smack: Read my post again, it happened 20 years ago, and apparently they still suck.

I've never been since that fateful day, and never will go back. :lmao:

Well lookie here ...

Seems somebody is going to have herself a little refund check shortly for the damage to her car, a free oil change (not sure I'll be using it), AND a blip on the local news! :diva:

Email from the news station I just received:
Hi Jennifer,

I did leave you a message but I wanted to make sure you got it. I talked with
Jiffy Lube and they are going to cut you a check for the repair and also offer
you a free service, if you want it.

We do stories on issues that we get involved in so this would be one of them.
It's short, painless and for the most we will show your car, the paperwork and a
some of you about your frustrations.

This is the only way viewers know what I do, so that's why we do stories on
issues like this. Just let me know what works.
HA! Stick THAT in your service bay and torque it, Jiffy Lube! :neener: Nobody screws Crabby for free! :nono: :lmao:

You mean I gotta pay?:bawl:
You're grandfathered in. :smoochy:

I'm so happy; not because of the money, but the principle. The technician knew he did something to the handle and lacked the integrity to say something about it. And the joke called the "customer service" department couldn't have done a more piss-poor job of handling the situation. :ohwell:

I'm just amazed at how fast the news station got the email I sent, investigated, and obtained a resolution in the matter. I figured it'd be at least a few weeks just to hear from someone, if at all. :yay:
