He’s probably not reading the answers, but it’s not as embarrassing as showing the world that you’re listening to the voices in your head.

One of the reporters asked him a question. He bowed his head and then slowly started to answer the question with his head still down like he was reading the answer without looking up.

Are you watching Hannity?
Joe Concha just summed up what I’ve been saying about late nite shows for the last 8-10 years. By 11:30 I’ve had enough politics and just want to laugh a little before falling asleep. When Letterman turned political I turned off late nite.

It was a crap show. Laura is slaying also. I'm going to bed soon.

Watch all the way until the end because the mumbling performance at the beginning isn’t his only flub in the span of 30 seconds. Biden later starts shuffling through papers attempting to read who the call on next. The natural question is exactly why a president needs a pre-determined list of reporters to call on? Can he not remember their names? Is he incapable of dealing with inquiries from unfriendly reporters?

Further, he had a large binder full of rehearsed answers ready to go, another unprecedented aspect of all this. I can’t recall Donald Trump nor Barack Obama ever needing crib notes to do a press conference. Heck, the entire point is that it’s different from a regular White House briefing. It’s supposed to be unscripted. Yet, this was anything but.

I think what we saw today tells us something about where we go from here. Clearly, Biden is not going to give the traditional first address to Congress, at least not in any real sense. If he does, he’ll lean on COVID and claim he can’t appear at the Capitol because of the risks. It doesn’t matter that he’s vaccinated, as would be everyone else in the room, and that’s irrelevant anyway. The real reason he won’t appear is that he’s incapable of reading a speech off paper notes for an hour and a half. We all know it.

I wouldn’t expect any more pressers anytime soon either. This will be a “mark it off the list” moment. Jen Psaki will now claim from here unto 2024 that Biden answered the presses’ questions and there’s no reason to have another one. This president is going to hug his size 30 font teleprompter tight and the script will only get tighter from here. If his handlers were worried before today, they have to now be terrified of what Biden may do the next time they loosen the reigns even slightly.

He not only had a list of reporters he was to call on, but obviously he had the questions in advance.
He doesn't need to know the reporters names all he has to do is point to one,
He could not even do that because he didn't have any answers written down for any of them other than those on the list.

Its only going to get worse. Being President is a 24 hr exhausting job. He can't handle more than an hour now, how bad will he be in 6 months.

What a total difference in how the press treated him as opposed to Trump. Trump was interrupted repeatedly and shown no respect. I recall some of the press arguing with him and being downright hostile. But Trump answered the questions and didn't play the evasive game unlike the current administration.
I wish someone had had the balls to ask him about the money being thrown at the illegals when we have so many homeless Americans including veterans that need medical and mental health help, food and shelter. And I don't believe for a minute that "thousands, tens of thousands" are being turned away.

Yesterday was an embarrassment to this country. And it scares the $hit out of me that our country is in this incompetent idiot's hands.

One of his press conferences BEGAN with "when are you going to stop lying to the people and how do you expect them to trust you" - IIRC.

This presser doesn't deserve serious commentary, except to say that it was a sad display of a man who has obvious mental challenges. No real substantive answers. Fumbling and bumbling. All this time to prepare, and that was the best he could provide?

But, I'm not criticizing him. He obviously is on a mental decline. There is no way he is running things. I'm saddened by what I see in this man, because I've seen it personally in my own mother. I'm angered that the democrat party felt this was the best guy to put out there. I'm even more angry that this country felt this is what they want as this country's leader.

Really close. But, what else would you expect from this press? The commentary from the media (except Fox) of this presser was nothing but praise and fawning. Incredible what they see in a man who is headed toward assisted living in a matter of a couple of more years.
