He could file appeal after appeal and be well into his 50's before they would follow thru on the decision.

This is the decision of the jury, Petterson can follow a series of appeals, those appeals could take years and years to exhaust.

No point in watching the news tonight. All they will talk about is the verdict.

I don't understand why so many people follow cases like these. The OJ case was a big reason I stopped watching TV news. Not sure whether it was the case itself or how it was covered or both, but I just felt dirty whenever I saw a story about it. It's hard to describe the feeling--it just feels wrong to me to find entertainment in real-life death and suffering (Nicole Brown Simpson, Laci and Connor Peterson)
