Baztard.
Attractive victim and perpetrator.Pete said:I would like to know why this case was so riviting and got so much media coverage. There are heinous murders everyday.
It didn't occur to me that Scott's looks would be a factor in the media coverage. But the media seems to play up missing-and/or-murdered-woman cases when the victim was young and attractive. In my opinion, the reporters are thinking with their Petersons.vraiblonde said:Attractive victim and perpetrator.
Carla Faye Tucker and her band of merry murderers killed old people with pick axes, was Gretta VanSustren there during the trial? No one even cared until she for the deep sleep injection in TX.vraiblonde said:Attractive victim and perpetrator.
You are probably right. Media loves to follow the pretty victim case. But I'd like to think that the fact she was pregnant when murdered played a role in the American public's interest.vraiblonde said:Attractive victim and perpetrator.
I was hoping the same. He could have been someone's 'toy'. The regulars would surely be drooling over making him suffer............Sharon said:That's too bad, he'll have his own cell and be separate from the general population. I was hoping he'd be in with the regulars and die faster.

That and it happened right before Christmas...Kizzy said:I think the whole media thing is centered on the fact she was within weeks of her due date. The whole shock of how could a husband do this to his wife and his unborn child? I think the looks part just gave it only a little more hype, coupled with the fact that these two seemed like your everyday next door neighbors. Then when the whole Amber thing surfaced, it seemed like a plot in a movie, leaving viewers to wonder what else could come up on this clown.
That's a good point. The angle of "Behind the facade of the perfect husband and father..." That kind of thing colored the coverage of the Columbine massacre. Reporters talked as if suburban kids aren't supposed to become psychotic. Violence and bloodshed can happen anywhere.Kizzy said:coupled with the fact that these two seemed like your everyday next door neighbors.
Very interesting piece. I have often wondered why high schools don't use pieces like this as mandatory reading assignments...:shrug:otter said:
Well, good. I'm heartened that Death Row in San Quentin is an ugly place to be.otter said:
The answer, Durhard, is that you shouldn't have done whatever it was that landed you on Death Row in San Quentin. Those words stopped the laughter, but I never got an answer to my question. Guess there really isn't one.
