First they put you to sleep then they inject the lethal dose. That's crap. They should fry him, put him in front of a firing squad? How about killing him the same way he killed Laci and Connor? It didn't occur to me that Scott's looks would be a factor in the media coverage. But the media seems to play up missing-and/or-murdered-woman cases when the victim was young and attractive. In my opinion, the reporters are thinking with their Petersons.

You are probably right. Media loves to follow the pretty victim case. But I'd like to think that the fact she was pregnant when murdered played a role in the American public's interest.

I think the whole media thing is centered on the fact she was within weeks of her due date. The whole shock of how could a husband do this to his wife and his unborn child? I think the looks part just gave it only a little more hype, coupled with the fact that these two seemed like your everyday next door neighbors. Then when the whole Amber thing surfaced, it seemed like a plot in a movie, leaving viewers to wonder what else could come up on this clown.

That's a good point. The angle of "Behind the facade of the perfect husband and father..." That kind of thing colored the coverage of the Columbine massacre. Reporters talked as if suburban kids aren't supposed to become psychotic. Violence and bloodshed can happen anywhere.
