Kids!!!!!

Infortunately I am divorced and the boys live with the EX over there. She leaves for work before he does to school so nobody is there to oversee this sort of thing at all.

He is a good kid. Just hope he takes this to heart and learns something from it.

My neighbors son ended up with an ipod... no one knows where it came from. BUT this came out when he was in court yesterday morning. BEFORE he went to school. So it couldn't be your son's since school just started yesterday.

As a teacher, I've seen a lot of this and honestly, each and every time I think "What idiot parent would get their child something so expensive?" Not calling you an idiot or anything.... because I've never really heard the parent's side till now. Sucks.... but he'll definitely learn.

Kids deserve decent things. Rewards for good behavior, GRADES etc. It was about $220 or so.

According to the EX the story at this point seems fishy. The lady at the school seems to think something is amiss because my son's story keeps changing.

The Ex thinks it is "possible" that my son has misplaced it and has made up this story about the theft. I dunno.

Something isn't quite right but all I have to go on is what his story is.

For what it is worth. It is/was a White Ipod Touch 1st Gen and a Black Rubber case. Has/had a sticker on the back, inside the black case with his name and phone number. He didn't have many songs on it. About 60. Mostly Country top 40 because I had already bought and downloaded those to mine.

No kid deserves an Ipod touch... IMO... sorry. I don't even have a regular ipod and I'm a music teacher. I do tend to generalize though because usually the kids I see with expensive phones and electronics are the ones who get in trouble everyday and use them in class... thus advertising to everyone their belongings.

Why doesn't a kid deserve them? Because you don't have one? My then 9 year old got an Ipod nano last year for Chrsitmas, it was about $200. She loves the thing and has taken great care of it and still uses it all the time. Since she has been responsible for that, this year she got a laptop.

My boys generally don't get such hi-tech stuff but I went a bit overboard this year for X-Mas. Hoping that because they are getting older they might show a bit more responsibility.

I won't be replacing it. I did think that over though. But he is going to have to put this one in the lessons learned file.

He told me he would not take it to school. That's a lie from my perspective.
I may replace it but he is going to have to come up with a bit of money and accomplish a respectable list of chores.

A few weeks back my son wanted to take his new baseball bat glove and ball to school to play w/ at recess... I said nope it is brand new leave it here you can play w/ it when you get home from school... well guess who decided to take it to school anyway.... well the VP called me from work and said that they had to take it from him because it was against school rules (something along those lines) but that I could come pick it up after school... guess where it still sits!

I HOPE that just the bat is against school rules because I'd have a real issue if kids couldn't bring a baseball and glove to school :ohwell:

I think Cell Phones and Ipods should be against school rules. That was the main reason I didn't want my boy taking his to school.

Is it against school rules???
