Kittens Available for Adoption

Someone with a 240-298-#### number text me about kittens for adoption... I asked them "Who is this." No answer.

if it was from me it would start as 301-399 so it wasn't me. I wonder who would be texting someone that late about adopting kittens? That's pretty rude unless it is someone who knows you are typically up that late?

Apparently the lady with the kitten told the motel employee that she didn't have any cat food, and she was going to let the kitten live in the dumpster so it could find food. What a crackpot (or maybe she was a crackhead?).

Yeah and like um what happens when the trash truck comes to empty the dumpster? Cat flies through air into truck then squish ...... some people fail to think things through obviously.

Mama kitty drama ...... hiss hiss hiss!!!

So the kitty I caught in the trap the same couple of days I caught 3 kittens by my barn?, well she is the mother of the kittens. I had her spayed last week at Humane Society. I opened the cage today and she left the cage, but she is staying close to the cage her kittens are in on the deck (has roof and a fan to blow on them). She hisses at me, but I assume it is due to protecting her kittens. So she will be my barn kitty?

The kittens are scheduled for mid-July at HS to be fixed. They are a bit fearful at first, but they don't seem particularly feral at all. Thank goodness, so they can be adopted . The biggest one looks like the adult I've seen around that did not go in the trap (the father?). The other 2 look like the Mama kitty. They are all adorable! As soon as I figure out their sex I'll post that.

Right now I hear lots of fireworks.

So I put some food and water on the side of the kitten cage for Mama kitty. What a surprise it was that she was even around, let alone had kittens and they went unnoticed by us all for weeks I bet?

One of the volunteers said we should call him Only - since he is the ONLY kitten w/o siblings to play with. Sadly I can't even get him fixed until probably the 17th when the 2nd batch of 3 kittens goes to be fixed. I was thinking that maybe he can be housed with that bunch if they will accept him? I'll try and see what happens. I surely won't put him in with the 3 that have already been vetted.

Years ago we had 2 cats get knocked up at the same time. I ended up with 9 kittens. One of the mothers was not even a year old and was not a great mother. The other mother (who was that cat's mother) ended up caring for all 9 kittens. All of the kittens played and slept well together. :shrug:

I put the other 3 waiting to be vetted in the big crate with Only yesterday morning, and after a few minutes they were playing like siblings! They are so happy to be together. 2 of the other kittens look remarkably similar to Only - I can tell the difference because his stripes on his side are more defined.

Momma cat is hanging around, so I am continuing to feed her and provide her with water. She hisses at me so much, I've decided to name her Miss Hissy LOL

H e l p !!!

H E L P - we have a lead on a home for the Cali/Torti girl, but without the adoption fee reimbursements from the 3 kittens (well 4 counting Miss Hissy who isn't adoptable) we had done the last time, we have little money to pay toward the next 4 kittens which are scheduled for Wed/Jul 17th. The estimated bill is $480 for all 4 kittens which includes shots, deworming, spay or neuter, test for FIV/FELV, and what ever else the vet deems needs to be handled, or if extra charges apply.

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. You can make contributions to my Paypal account (PM me), or mail a snail mail check/money order to us (see our website Page 1). Unfortunately the Humane Society won't accept donations on our behalf anymore. They said it was against their roles to do that.

Just to show what kind of responses we sometimes get to our ads for adoptable critters - this is the reply received from a CraigsList ad we placed for the kittens for adoption. The ad stated all the vet care the kittens have had (spay/neuter, Distemper Vac., de-worm, FIV/FELV test, etc), and that the adoption fee was to cover the discounted cost of the vet care:
