The sport has evolved. And since they've come out with this Car of Tomorrow, they are pretty much all equal.
all equally boring?

You forgot to add AJ Foyt , Dan Gurney and Mario Andretti to the list of successful open wheel and stock car racing drivers.
14 races over 30 years? You call that success?? Gimmee an effing break!!
You're still missing the point although Gurney probably would have done ok in NASCAR had he stuck with it.Uhm, scroll down to the bottom of the wiki pages and see how many other races and championships these guys won. Indy races, Lemans, Sebring races, NASCAR races, F1 races.
Gurney also built and raced his own F1 car in which he won in.
The 1.5 mile tracks are snooze fests. The other tracks are exciting.all equally boring?
Tim Richmond was hot in NASCAR but did nothing at all in open wheel. In fact, the 2 years he was there he led 1 lap. He doesn't even count as an open wheeler.YOU forgot to add Tim Richmond, who was probably the most successful at going from open wheel to NASCAR, beside Tony. And Tony can drive the HELL out of a dirt car. And dirt track late models rule.
Lil miss LOOK AT ME will be lucky to survive a season. She will not make it in NASCAR. Wanna put money on it??Kyle Petty 8 wins in 846 races over 30 years! And that was all he did and couldn't win. Lets break it down into something even your mind might comprehend.
Kyle Petty - 8 wins in 846 races over 30 years = 1%
AJ Foyt - 7 wins in 128 races over 30 years = 5% + 3 USAC Stock car championships and 2 IROC championships.
Dan Gurney - 5 wins in 16 races over 10 years = 33% (I wonder how he would have done with 846 starts!)
Mario Andretti - 1 win in 14 races over 4 years = 7% plus an IROC Championship.
Tony Stewart - 37 wins in 383 races over 10 years - 10%
Kyle Petty never won in trucks or Busch (Nationwide) and only raced in the NASCAR world. The others raced many different race leagues and were successful in all. So, yes Danica can make it. Time will tell. I like KP for what he does as far as charities and such, but neither he nor you are the authority on how well a driver will do.

I don't think that's against the rules. We could change it toWe better check with "Board Mommy" to make sure we won't get banned for betting!

You obviously don't watch the good races. Skip the mile and a half tracks and the road courses and watch the rest. Especially Bristol, Martinsville & Richmond. She's already made it.
She generating interest and controversy which generates revenue.
When NASCAR eliminated the cars as a factor, all that was left was the "As the Drivers go round the turns" soap opera

Ok but keep the green white checkered.Dump the road races, get rid of restrictor plates, quit making the rules as they go along, be consistant in yellows and stop the red/white/checker. No laps count under caution inside of 10 laps!!!

Thanks Michael. This post proves you completely missed the point. I never generalized that open wheelers were not good racers. I said that as a rule, they can't compete in NASCAR.Your still missing the point. Have you included their wins in Indy Car? Their wins of races such as Lemans, Sebring, or the Daytona 24? Back in their day, Indy car races and the Daytona 24 were very popular in the U.S. and around the world. Lemans and Sebring are legendary races which are very popular around the world. It is very impressive for a race car driver such as Mario Andretti to jump into an F1 Car, an Indy Car, a Sports Car, or a Stock Car and WIN.
To generalize that open wheel racers are not good racers is ignorant. I guess you have never heard of Michael Shumacher(91 wins, 7 world championships), Ayrton Senna(41 wins, 3 championships), Alain Prost(51 wins, 4 championships).
I agree, I doubt Danica does well in NASCAR, but she is a marketing tool which will help NASCAR's popularity even more. I personally am not a fan of hers, but I do not doubt her skill and talent as a race car driver.

Andretti won ONCE!!! Gurney 5 times in 10 years!!!Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Juan Montoya, and Tony Stewart won in NASCAR. They all came from open wheel racing to compete in NASCAR races and won.

TS & JPM are the only successes and JPM hasn't proved himself yet!! How dense are you??
Well I am going to root for her just because she seems to get ya'll in such a twist.
Go Danica!
