Because the fact is Boeing has no capsule that can take anybody in space safely. Despite being given almost twice the money and more than twice the time. Should NASA cripple this program simply because Boeing can't perform? Because the optics are bad?

That's the problem with Gov Contracting and Bureaucracy

As much as I despise Jon Stewart ... Ezira Cline schooled him on how leftist gov sabotages everything

Jon Stewart SPEECHLESS After Getting SCHOOLED On Biden And Democrats Build Back Better DISASTER!

Maybe, but incentives get awarded for performance. which Boeing has failed to demonstrate. Not one test has been performed without issues.
I'd like to take a look at that contract, but I can't access those systems anymore.

But you know who can? DOGE can.

What I saw said that since the buyout of McDonnell Douglas, Boeing has gone to crap.
It happened with McDonnell Douglas laid me off. Finally. Survived 6 rounds of layoffs in the late '70s into the early '80s, but I finally got got.

The company was never the same afterward.

For those who are ignorant of the process, this is what NASA does they hire launch services as needed. In this case, they've written a contract that allows them to launch of variety of their own and other satellites on SpaceX is Starship and falcon and falcon heavy. Whichever rocket they deem is the best suited for that mission is selected.

Also note this contract puts NASA's nose into every aspect of the vehicle payload and the launch.
