Lets Tell the French How we feel

Well after seeing all of those antiwar protests yesterday it sure looks like alot of people are against disarming a madman. I say since the majority of Americans support action on Iraq that we show the French how we feel.

I am not going to buy anything made in France amd I would like to get a pettition started to send to the airlines urging them to not purchase Airbus planes but instead to go with Boeing airliners. Does anyone know how to get such a pettition started and how to get it to the proper people or get it on the news or something?

Well after I saw that Germans and the French loved Michael Jackson that much...I have to question if we really want their support in a war. Hell if they like a whacko like that, why should we trust their judgement of Saddam Hussein?

Why NOT boycott their goods?

 The French export many foodstuffs, BOTTLED water, WINE, and CHEESES, breads, etc.

Well what's wrong with the American public refusing to buy French goods? Hit 'em in the pocketbook, French vintners would be the first to start screaming "Sacre Bleu"!

If they don't agree with our policies, we shouldn't agree to purchase their goods. The most lucrative items would likely be their wines and cheeses.

You know, 20-25 years ago, France pretty much had the market cornered on red and white wine. That is not the case anymore.

America, Australia, Chile, New Zealand all make excellent wines for drinking with dinner, or sipping with cheese, fruits, etc.

In any case, I can't remember the last time I bought a bottle of French wine; I like American and Australian reds and Chilean whites, for example. Although Louis M. Martini(US) makes a great

Just so long as it's not Mad Dog...ugh...god, how many bad decisions do you think that drink is responsible for??? :barf:

So long time no...uh...type? Good to see things are still chugging along here...

So Iraq...international support....protests....god, so much going on in the world.

I don't get the European stance (those against us). I mean, it almost seems like the chic thing to do to be against the war now. Not because of any real credible reasoning, just because, hey war is bad. Well no, $%#@. Franco-Germany, Inc. really need to own up to their own interests in terms of Iraq when they are protesting this war.

However, I don't totally agree with the way WE are going about this either. I'm not gonna support a doctrine of pre-emption ever. I just don't think it's good policy and sends a frightening message that the international community is justified in being concerned about.

Bush, in my mind, has all the justification he needs for war through the UN resolution 1441 RIGHT NOW and THAT, in my opinion, is where he needs to focus more of his energy. I don't see how the UN can continue to misunderstand the meaning of the word "immediately" like this. It baffles me to no end. And I feel that, if they draft up a resolution that will clearly place a specific deadline on Iraq to present proof of disarmament, the remaining dissenters will have nothing to say to justify their opinions...they hem and haw now, only because they can. If a deadline is set, and the deadline is passed and nothing has changed, they have no choice but to fall in line.

However, if we don't set that up and we go it on our own, I think that is a very dangerous path to take and we risk much in the way of gobal stability, that could be spared should we press for (if this isn't too much of a contradiction) a diplomatic entry into war.

Hi Jimmy!!!!!

I suspect that's exactly what it is - no real thought on their part, just a "clique" mentality. But they're getting so much airtime it just lends them credibility!!! :frown:

I say Death To Dictators, in EVERY country. Those freaks should be killed and their countries taken over. I surely don't understand why other nations tolerate this sort of behavior, especially since they ALSO scream and cry about "world peace".

I don't mean to imply that you do, but what about French perfumes, eau-de-toilettes, and other cosmetic products from that country?

How about saying NO to those products? Would that hurt them in the pocketbook?

 You know, it's probably not that hard to start a grass-roots program to boycott French goods across this country.

Do you suppose we're the only website that's talking about this issue?

If any of you out there belong to any other sites, can you tell us if they're or what they're discussing?

I'm not big on the cheese and wine, but you had to go and mention their cosmetic industry.

I'll never give up my Shalimar and Lancome products!

NEVER! :cussing:

Don't make me do it :bawl:
