Darn it. How could this happen :twitch:

This is not a "Hometown wedding" Anyone know what Mark and Sarah think about this?

According to their TV interview they were thrilled with the location, but then again it could have been a cover for disappointment.

Hometown Wedding means Hometown. Am I missing something about that? I think the Today Show should stay in the couples Hometown.

Most of America could give a crap about St. Mary's, so they voted otherwise. That's what happens when you put your wedding in other people's hands.

Don't forget the important stuff.....

Mark and Sarah wanted to get married on the water and the Beach Club is very beautiful, having been there several times.

As I said to several people Wednesday evening at a meeting I attended, if you were not from St. Mary's County, I would be inclined to vote for the Beach Club for one simple reason.

They marketed themselves better on the videos shown on the today show better than any other location. They had the chairs set up, flower petals spread on the ground, the banquet room set up, ribbons and bows all over the place and a heart in the sand with Mark & Sarah written in it. THEY wanted it more than any of the other locations.

So, Mark & Sarah get their wish to be married on the water and it is unfortunate that it won't be here in St. Mary's but it is unfortunate for the County, not Mark & Sarah. They are two of the most fortunate people on the planet right now.

Be happy for Mark & Sarah, they go their wish to be married on the water.

Guess SMCDECD/Tourism and the PR Department at the College dropped the ball on this one... :ohwell:

The real important thing is the wish that they are happy and healthy together and into the future.

I completely agree! I really wish it was at St. Mary's College, since I go there ;-)
Maybe I could have sneaked a peek of the wedding!

I too attended St. Mary's College and agree that it is a beautiful location. However, their attitude down there is LESS than warm and welcoming. Sarah contacted them about a group e-mail to help them win the original contest and they pretty much blew her off. I've seen this type of behavior from them before. Events are not what they used to be and the liberal attitude there has gone so far over the edge it's not even funny. My husband and I used to go down occasionally for Sunday Brunch and it got to the point that we couldn't stomach our food from listening to the CONSTANT Bush, war, country bashing coming from the student body. It's a shame that they won't be saying their vows here in their own County, but it's not the fault of the voters that our County won't be gaining this advantage, it's because of the rude, elitist attitude the college came across with. IMO, they've become a little too good for themselves.

I thought dress one and two were the best looking dresses. I went with One because I thought dress two was just too formal for an outdoor cermony. And I dislike three I thought it was tooplain. I liked the back of it but the front was missing something. I do not think it would look good on Sarah. The final fourth dress I Just do not like that dress. I do not know what it is but Thre is something about that dress I do not like.I
I believe the first one would look beautiful on Sarah and I think it fits the theme of the wedding. So my vote went to Number one.
I take it is going to be a morning cermony???? Since they will show the cermony will be live on Television.????

I heard that Sarah liked dress #1 and #4. I personnally liked #3. She's tall and that would look good on her. I love the back.

My personal favs are 2 and 4 (not taking into consideration the time of day of ceremony and other such things).

I didn't vote yet, until I hear what her preference might be.

Sarah is on z104 right now. Says she likes 4 and then 1& 2 and 3 is her least favorite.
Did anyone see the write up in the style section of the Post yesterday?

Actually they worked hard on it. The issue of what hometown meant was defined by the producers of the Today show. I deal with both the college and the tourism folks and they most certainly did all they could. I think that most people in this area probably voted for St. Mary's college, since it was the only site in St. Mary's County. The rest of the country went with their own feelings. I personally feel that all four locations should have been in the county. There is an editorial in today's Enterprise about it.
