Loveville Produce Auction

I'm curious why he says that? You pick up phenomenal deals at the produce auction.

Can I go with you next time? :frown:

I will send you my phone number on a sugar packet so you can call me the next time you go. :huggy:

(or I can PM it to you if you want to do it the easy way)

I am not a psycho but I understand if you don't want to go with some idiot from the forums. :ohwell: Happens all the time. :coffee:

My haul from today's auction. And the camera angle didn't really capture the lushness and bounty of all that I picked up this morning.

I'm already overwhelmed with how much stuff I have to can/freeze/cook in the next day or two.

Despite my whining, I have to admit, I love this shiat.
WTF are you gonna do with all those cucumbers? Or do I not wanna know? :cds:

If any of you do go, will you pick me up a case of pickeling cukes (smaller is better), between 10 and 30 pounds worth.

Why doesn't anybody want to go with me - because I am buying mums instead of cucumbers? :bawl: I don't mind crazy people from forums...

I was going to go but my father in law talked me out of it. He drives for the amish and goes there often and told me I would not really save anything by shopping there.

Edit to add: I am still hoping he was wrong and may go just to see.

He is wrong....

He was WAAAAAY wrong.

Where do you think the stores that sell this stuff (and make a profit) go to buy it??

BG got some GREAT deals yesterday.. TOO many great deals, but great deals still the same.

She bought a case of eggplant for less than I payed for a single plant that I had to grow for 3 months.. (we won't say what happened to all of those eggplant)

Same with the hot peppers, habaneros etc.. cheaper to buy there then to grow them in your garden.

Cucumbers? OMG.. she bought a MESS load. She's got 12 quarts of bread and butter pickles on the counter already.. I have 15 Liters fermenting (once these are done MORE sauerkraut) on another counter, and she still has another case of them to do something else with.. Wickles maybe??

Tomatoes, same thing.. Cheaper than growing them ourselves..
