You have turned a public service issue into a personal issue. There are many ways to advertise, one being the Community Calendar on Southern MD. On Line. How about the local newspapers that have free listings for community events? Just for S&G check back in some of the places where you left your flyer. I will bet that 90% of them hit the round file soon after you left.

I didn't ask them to post the flyer. I only told them we were having an event and asked them if I could leave a flyer.

I didn't ask for sponsorship, money, door prizes, or anything. I told them we are holding an event and I asked if I could leave the flyer.

CRE supports those businesses. If those businesses want to post the flyer... it's up to them. If they choose to put it in the round file... it's up to them. Food Lion has a policy but they offered to put it up in the break room... that's very cool.

I posted this because the woman was nasty to me.... I have apologized in this forum for my getting upset. She made a hand gesture at me that made me feel like a begger being told to leave.... that upset me....

Like I said ... I love the Hair Cuttery across the bridge.... I've had a couple of good hair cuts in the Lusby Hair Cuttery.... I'll even add... most of the time they are nice.... this time ... not so much....

I've thought a lot about how to post to this thread, so here goes.

It is a violation of company policy for us as hairdressers and as a salon leader for us to distribute literature, notices, or signs, and/or solicitation on company premises. This includes posting of baby showers, girl and boy scout sales and any personal business information such as Avon, etc. It is also posted on our promotional signage hanging out front that no solicitation (is allowed).

This also includes the flyer that you wanted to post at our salon, Becky. I wasn't working on Monday when this incident happened, however, I've heard a lot about it not only from our shop but also (apparently) from other Hair Cuttery Managers in the SoMD area. Don't say bad things about my manager.

You did admit, Becky, that you weren't very nice first. That much I'll give you. But to TRASH our entire salon on the basis that YOU didn't get what you wanted is a underestimation of the FABULOUS customer SERVICE that all of us as a TEAM strive to give to our clients, friends, and family. WE DO CARE about children in our salon. We have entire families that come to see us.

I know I'm grateful for my success, however modest, in my shop. You can go to other shops, sure, but I BET you won't get the level of customer service that we provide, along with great hairdressing SKILLS. So, before I go any further, I'd like to give the Help Desk number if YOU have a complaint about our no solicitation policy, which is the correct way to go on this issue.

Love to Lusby Hair Cuttery!!! :smoochy:

Big Oooph

Unless you have a "no solicitation" sign posted a polite no would have been the correct course of action. However I was not there, nor you, and did not witness the event, so........

I can say that I do go to your salon, but no more. I tried to get a cut recently and waited for 45min. Then 2 new customers came in the door and were helped right away, there were 5 people ahead of them. They had appointments! The Hair Cuttery doesn't give appointments was the answer I was given when I asked about making an appointment. Then how is it these 2 men are able to walk right in and sit in a chair??

You are being childish and immature. Get over it and yourself. The difference between leaving a flyer and posting a flyer is negible and merely a matter of semantics. So she made a hand gesture waving you away. Yeah that was impolite on her part but by making the online complaint and bad mouthing the establishment while praising others, is pretty rude too and probably libelous. What do you do when some rude person pops the bird at you in traffic or makes a face when your cart is in the way in a store? You have blown this totally out of proportion my dear.

It's really very simple, if you get bad service or are not served in a timely manner or someone is taken out of turn ahead of you - LEAVE. There are tons of beauty shops around here. Go somehwere else. I've done that at the Hair Cuttery in California. The place and all the stations were packed. After waiting for 15 mins and nothing appeared to be freeing up, I left. No big deal. Just get up and go.

Again, there IS a no solicitation sign albeit very small on our promotional signage which hangs up on the inside window.

There are a couple of people that do accept appointments, and others that are there to take care of the walkins. I am sorry for the miscommunication :-( ...We are not perfect. I've only been there for a month or so...and I do think we give great customer service most of the time.

I don't know what we can do to correct the last experience you had, but there is a help number that I posted earlier...

You make a good point. That being said with the number of salons in the area customer service is thing that sets them apart. Lusby will soon get competition with the opening of Great Clips in Lusby common. Maybe the competition will make them step up their game. If you want to keep the customers make them feel welcome and give the best service possible. They will come back.

Great Clips is NOT comming to Lusby Common. The rent is too high! :lmao:

Are you the hairstylist that had her daughter up there one evening during some bad storms a couple of weeks ago? If you are, You, Lady, need to learn what customer service is all about! It was so unprofessional of you to be yelling at your daughter and continuosly being interrupted by your daughter so much so that it took you over an hour to cut a simple hair cut! Then you had the nerve to sit there and try and blame it on how long the little girls hair was! :bs: Then while you were cutting my hair you were complaining so much about how you should of charged her more for her long hair that you cut mine so uneven that the next day I had to go get it fixed at another salon! I think there is only one person in that salon that is nice and doesn't have an attitude and that's Heather. The rest of ya'll suck at customer service and could learn by watching how Heather treats the customers! Wake up and smell the coffee and realize it's not about you but about the customer!

I will NEVER go back to this salon not because of the bad haircuts ya'll give but because of the worst customer service I have ever dealt with!

That is so unprofessional! I live in CRE and I don't go there to get my haircut. I go to the haircuttery in california. All the girls treat you nice in there. I like that you can put your name on the list and walk to the store. 30 minute wait isnt bad when you can go shop at target or best buy.

WOW. Yes, Heather is super nice, and NO, that wasn't me that was yelling or complaining or messing up your hair. I work next to Heather. I do have over 23 years experience as a hair dresser...and I'm truly sorry that you had to go elsewhere to get your hair fixed. I would rather (if it was me) have that customer come back to the original shop and have someone else fix your hair, and have you say something to our manager about that hairdresser that you had a problem with.

I once got a very uneven haircut by a new stylist that was filling in for my normal hairdresser. I went back the next day and asked to have scissors to give HER a haircut...but she had already been fired. Guess I wasn't the only one that wasn't happy with her work!

No Thanks I'll pass! I won't ever trust your place again! I guess the saying is true.... "you get what you pay for"! This lady I'm referring about is at the very end next to the shampoo bowls. (She's very tall and big boned.) I have never in my life seen such unprofessionalism! Heather was even shaking her head and in disbelief and very frustrated about how long it was taking her and even looked quit pissed about how many times she was stopping and going outside to talk on the phone and dealing with her daughter right in the middle of cutting this little girls hair! Heather did three people to her one.

You know if ya'll don't get your customer service issues under control and the way ya'll cut hair corrected then when great clips opens ya'll will probably lose a lot of business!

BTW, I'm not sure if you're the lady that is at the station next to the register but my son just told me that lady cut his hair all wrong and nothing like he asked for. His bangs were very uneven as well! So I guess it's not just an isolated incedent! I guess it doesn't really matter how many years of experience you have cutting hair if you suck you suck and that is probably why you have to work at a salon like haircuttery. Not trying to be mean just stating the truth!
