Ed Zachary!!

This is just another case of ghetto lottery. Whoever has the most money is the one who gets sued, whether it's their fault or not. Suing the aide or pressing charges would net the family zero. But Frederick County taxpayers have lots of money, and juries tend to side with sobbing mothers against mean old cops. SCORE!

The mother even admitted that she didn't monitor her son at home and allowed him to make repeated calls to 911 to waste their time and cost the taxpayers money.

Tell us your experience about dealing with DS.

:howdy:

When I was in high school the LOMR kids used to come take swim lessons in our pool. I was one of the aides - actually aiding the kids, not running off to do whatever while they were left to their own devices.

One time I was floating this big kid (outweighed me by at least 100 lbs) and someone accidentally splashed him in the face. He freaked, grabbed hold of me and tried to climb up me to get out of the water, shoving me down to the bottom of the pool, pretty much standing on me. Fortunately someone saw this, restrained him, and drug him out of there before I drowned.

Some of these DS people are large, and they are strong, and they don't understand reason. They will not comply and do not understand when they are a danger to themselves and others. Fortunately my incident went off without anyone dying, but there are any number of things that could have gone wrong.

So you can STFU any time now, because you're wrong and being stupid to hang onto your wrongness.

I am curious to know where the aid was as this progressed.

Clearly not doing their job. Note that there's not a whole lot of information on that - who this person was, what they were doing when this went down. I would think that would be an important part of the story.

Like Bann said, an approved caregiver would have training on how to deal with these situations. I'll bet you $10 that it will turn out that the "aide" was a family member or friend with no experience in dealing with DS people.

Police over re-acted.

the police over reacted ....

I don't know enough about Down's to talk in detail.

IMO, I am guessing ........ I think ....

I guess...

Yea, I think that the police made a bad judgement call.

It is nobody's fault.

Might never know and until I read/hear something more.

This about sums up your positions Penn. You did a lot of guessing, you changed your opinion, then weasel worded it to essentially say you have no opinion. By taking both sides in this, then weaseling out of it , you'll be able to come back later and claim you were right.

Face it Penn. You don't know what you are talking about, but you blamed the cops anyway. Time to man up and admit it.

It is nobody's fault. It just could have been handled better. I am curious to know where the aid was as this progressed. Did the aid try to intervene and the police ( I guess security guards in this case) not engage the aid (who could have help the matter since they are trained to handle these things) because they were caught up in the moment?

Might never know and until I read/hear something more. I stand by position that the security guards over reacted. Maybe it was the SD persons time to go and it did not matter. More will come out.

I am going to stand by the position that you must be intellectually challenged - since several people WITH experience working with people in this population have outlined many scenarios where the security detail / police personnel may not have necessarily been at fault.

As for the swimming accident, too funny. Help me out here, how many DS people have physical hurt people in criminal situations? How many are thieving bastards. Maybe they are a threat to the public and should not be out there. Mass murder killing spree by Down person.

Now you've lost it and are resorting to hyperbole, which tells me you know you're full of #### and are too small a person to admit it.

The parents of Saylor, who went by Ethan, declined through their attorney to comment. Attorney Joe Espo said Patti and Ron Saylor have not decided whether to file a lawsuit.

So we will see if they file. Sheriff says he is friends of the family so my guess if there is a suit it will be filed against the theater.

An no MMdad, I have not changed my opinion. I do think the security guards over reacted and made a bad judgement call. As for fault, sh$t happens.

Isn't it easy when they dig their own grave? :killingme

And I love the fact that he can't shut up after being proven wrong and looking like a fool.

I am a self-admitted blowhard but I have enough sense to either shuddup or admit when I'm wrong. Joe won't stop until the Chinese hack his computer.

Let all the facts come in Chris, before you bash our Men, and Women in blue.

Where was I "bashing our men and women in blue?"

:eyebrow:

I'm pretty sure myself, and Joe have both said it was an unfortunate accident, yet most of you seem to have reading troubles. Many fo you are defending these officers actions as if anyone here is blaming the guy's death on the police. Especially the LEOs on here. Chill out, no one is blaming your brothers in blue.

Come on, man up and admit it. You didn't start this thread for any other reason than to try to bash cops. Now that it hasn't turned out that way, you are trying to pretend that isn't your purpose. You and Penn, what a couple of weasels.

I started the thread for the same reason anyone else does.

Vraiblonde, you can put an end to this Penn crap. Why don't you do something useful and check my ip or linked emails to my account to vouch for me or is that something beyond you.

:roflmao:

Or you could show up at a meet and greet and prove it.
